God is exalted in his power. Who is a teacher like him? Who has prescribed his ways for him, or said to him, “You have done wrong”? Remember to extol his work, which men have praised in song. All mankind has seen it; men gaze on it from afar. How great is God – beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out. (Job 36:22-26)

Father in heaven, we thank You for making us Your children and inviting us to draw near You.

Lord, we pray today for all the fathers in our armed forces, that You would bring them back safely to their children and that You would teach them to be wise and loving fathers.

O God, You are exalted in Your power. Who is a teacher like You? Who has prescribed Your ways for You, or said to You, “You have done wrong”? All mankind has seen Your work; men gaze on it from afar and praise it in song. How great are You – beyond our understanding! The number of Your years is past finding out. To You, the Ancient of Days – who spoke light out of darkness and the world out of nothing, who spun stars and mountains and flowers out of Your infinite thoughts and infinite might – to You we give praise, through Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God, Amen.

Almighty and Eternal God, Protect our military as they discharge
their duties. Protect them with the shield of your strength and keep
them safe from all evil and harm.
May the power of your love enable them to return home safely to the
people who love them and to the gratitude of the American people.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
