I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests; And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham; And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him. (Zephaniah 1:2-7)
Zephaniah’s vision of the coming judgment of God, emphasized the brazen contradiction of people who profess to be God’s people, while at the same time openly practice paganism.It is almost as though they live out a kind of “Cognitive dissonance” in their spiritual life.
I have highlighted above, the passage in which the Holy God promises to “Cut off…them that worship and swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham”. I can’t imagine a greater contradiction than being a devout worshipper of the LORD, (Swearing by) citing Him and his word as authoritative , yet at the same time being a devotee of Malcham,(Moloch), the hideous god who demands as a sacrifice, the newly born children of his worshippers.
In order to gain fertility and the prosperity which comes with it, Moloch worshippers would approach a superheated bronze idol with outstretched arms, and place their child on those arms , to be burnt alive.
Zephaniah says that the Lord is coming to “Cut off” those who worship Moloch and Himself. How could anyone be so conflicted?
But Zephaniah not only prophesied for his own days, but also for these last days.
Evidently this is one of the sins of the last days, the mixture of the worship and service of the Holy God, and the worship and service of Moloch.
Consider the president of the United States, Barak Hussein Obama, who claims to be a Christian, yet who is also the most ardently pro-Abortion politician to ever come on the American scene. As a State Senator in Illinois, He even championed a bill which would have made it illegal to save the life of any baby who should happen to survive a saline abortion.
Obviously Obama is a servant of Moloch and professes to be a servant of God. But he is just one man, a typical politician, a hypocritical liar.
But what about the millions of professing Christians who voted for Him.How many churches “got out the vote” in their support of this evil man, overlooking and denying their own faith, minimizing the fact that this man is such a champion of abortion and homosexuality, putting him in power regardless of his deep evil.
How is it that people are seemingly comfortable holding to two completely opposite positions?
We have all seen the acting awards ceremony, or the music award shows, in which completely godless performers, singers or actors will get up and thank their “Lord and Savior Jesus” for giving them the talent to act in R-Rated movies with nudity, or to sin or rap about rape,murder, and call women degrading names.
The latest shocker is the people coming out to testify that Bruce Jenner is a Christian. One Pastor even said Jenner has ministered to Him quite deeply. What is this madness? Is this the delusion we were warned about by the apostle Paul?
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.(2 Thess 2:11-12)
We are soon going to be seeing an onslaught of “Gay evangelicals” and even worse contradictions coming out of the woodwork, who will present their arguments with such boldness it will actually force many to rethink their own (once obvious) position.
Theologians will step forward in the Evangelical world who will be telling us that one can be Christian and homosexual, and they will seem to present scriptural arguments to support this abomination.This will present a tremendous temptation for many to succumb to the evil and to accept the unacceptable. This is how many of us will deny Christ.
The pressure will come so intensely, that many will be forced to say things that they know are not true. May God prepare us to “Overcome Satan, by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony, and to Love not our lives unto death”
One can be both a Christian and a homosexual; but not a Christian and an unrepentant homosexual.
you cannot be a practicing homosexual and be a christian
We are all Christians who struggle with the sin that so easily besets us. It’s different for everyone.
I have friends who struggle with gambling, which I have absolutely ZERO temptation at all in that area.
I pity the person who struggles with homosexual temptation, but I don’t believe that one is a homosexual by nature, but rather is a person who struggles with that particular temptation.

However, even the very best Christian, which I certainly can't claim to be, though I try, will occasionally succumb to sin. God will forgive this, I believe.
But glorify the sin, to spit in God's eye, so to speak, will not receive forgiveness unless repented of, And to do it and claim to be a Christian is blasphemy

9. Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived:
Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
10. nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
11. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
If you could NOT change, you would be in most pitiful shape...

We all have a cross to bear no one has a heavier or lighter cross. Learning to lean on Jesus, the power of the Holy Scriptures, and not putting yourself into situations that ultimately leads to sin keeps us free.
