This is the conclusion of the column:

"This just makes me so sad for the girls to have to go through this many, many years after they moved on from it. So, the next time you’re ready to publicly shame all the Duggars and call for their heads served up on a platter, ask yourself why. Is it for the girls? It really should be. They are the victims here — not me or you. So, you feel like you were deceived by the Do-Good Duggars? So what. This isn’t about the public. It’s about the girls, and quite frankly, they don’t deserve this. Leave those girls alone… or you’re no better than Josh."

Thoughts?

it’s not something you want thrown into the public limelight

Isn't it the parents that have put them all in the limelight?

For big bucks and fame?

“Thoughts?”

It was their parents decided to pimp them on television in the first place. Put the blame where the blame lies.

I feel bad for the girls, but can we honestly just let this go? No. The parents allowed them to be molested, covered if up, and then “Jim Bob” said that people who participate in such behavior should be put to death. All that aside, this guy should *never* be around children. It’s like giving a bottle of vodka to an alcoholic. God may’ve forgiven him, but that does not mean he will not struggle with these urges and victimize more kids.

The Duggars made the choice of putting their family in the spotlight. Now they’re reaping the rewards of their bargain with the devil. Screw em.

“What many don’t realize is that the backlash in the news and social media is only victimizing those girls all over again. They are once again reliving every horrid detail of something that happened over a decade ago, something that they put behind them — even if we can’t understand how or why.”

The Duggar children are not permitted to watch television, and only have very, very filtered internet access. They may not even know about the press attention on this story.

It wouldn’t be happening had the parents notifies the proper authorities at the time, and then not have sold their lives to TV.

Duggars around the time the molestation was happening and Jim Bob was running for the 2002 Arkansas Senate Seat.

While the girls never received any counseling, Jim Bob made them forgive Josh. They're going to have nightmare fuel for a long time.

The Duggar’s ... like all the rest of us do the best they know how. I have enjoyed their TV program and they are generally showing good behavior, ‘love’, it is not all a lie.

Most of us have some undesired, behaviors, in our life time, divorce, abortion, driving while intoxicated, children making poor decisions, loss of jobs, tough times, no one is perfect.

Do not make it worse than it is and we do not really know the details.

There are good programs examples recently about courting, and asking for it formally. The program shows them to be cooperating in chores, and responsibilities, and being happy!. I thank them for their good influence.

“LET HIM WHO IS WITHOUT SIN THROW the first stone” (Jesus.)

All TV is ‘acting’ in the main. The Duggar’s are head and shoulders above the average24 hours of daily program.

Have mercy and pray for their healing, in Jesus name, amen.

every one just needs to STFU and let this thing die on its own...first of all the entire incident was between children, is not uncommon at all, and is basically harmless...

There is a feeding frenzy over all the salacious details right here on this site. I did not realize I was in the company of so many righteous folks. Apparently man made law means the statute of limitations for stoning this man have passed. He committed the crimes, has admitted he did the acts. But who is still getting reminded of the violence against them? Some people are making it their full time job to make sure they never ever forget. Alinskites all of them.

Why I lower my eyes in the midst of the number of saints needing to fulfill their self appointed judgments.

I do not have the time to spot trolls, or blogpimps, or all the faults and sins committed minute by minute. By happen stance I log on to see the latest news. Meaning what are our elected servants plotting against the Constitution today.

I find thread after thread about a family getting picked apart over an ugly crime that is apparently perceived by some, a crime gotten away with. And the green-eyed envy over the nerve of these people making money off their family by getting a tv show.

Shallow people, no crime ever goes unpunished. Were these self-righteous, pious, holier than thou types to read the Good Book, God keeps the only record that counts. All of us born in to flesh will get our day of judgment, and some sins/crimes man is not able or capable of melting out the just punishment.

Anybody thinking these crimes were gotten away with delude themselves. But Christ did say you break one of the commandments you break them all. So does the only Judge that counts differentiate in crimes/sins into varying degrees? Our man created law of precedence sure does, and the law handlers continue to evolve the law, depending on the mindset of an appointed judge. I believe He does because He is the only entity that can truly judge all sides of the crime/sin. Has this man repented, I cannot judge. Has he been forgiven, I do not know. Does he continue this criminal behavior?

It is striking to me that these victims once again are getting a public ridiculing by so called self-righteous peeps. I have no clue what their state of mind is. But I do know one thing some people are just as perverse as the original sinner/criminal. Lying, gossiping, and ridicule are tools of Alinsky. There are some here who have that technique down to a fine art. Oh, and to call them out causes them to bear down even harder.

Has everybody forgotten Reverand Billy Graham covering over a multitude of sins/crimes against a multitude of women?

I am not invested enough in the Duggar family to defend them, but I do cry for the way these victims are being forced to relive their horror in the name of some peoples god.

Some religious denominations have taken the time to give great elaboration, excuses, upon the age of the perp and the age of the victim. I want to throw-up every time some use the terms ‘prepubescent’ and ‘post-pubescant’. Somehow they have deluded themselves that by parroting the doctrine of age of victim lessens the severity of crime. See by claiming the crime/sin is with a ‘post-pubescant’ body it is a ‘joint agreeable sin’, thus their favorite father is less guilty. Repulsive.

Leave these victims alone and go chant in your favorite mirror.

Well I totally agree, even on the girls Facebook site there was a thread simply to wish Grandma Duggar a Happy Birthday. Yes there were many wishing her a Happy Birthday but some inserted their hate of Josh on their site. Well I let them have it and stated that they are re-victimizing the victims. They preach that they care about the victims so what do they do? yep rehash the past by having them to relive it.

Now I am reading some Freeper posts stating they chose to be in public. Yes they did but it does NOT mean they have to bring up the past. Again they do not owe me or you any past sins explanation simply because they wanted to do a show. So by that standard! That means no one should be holding a position in their community because of what they did in the past as teens.

It’s true that the media is raking it over the coals for their own purposes, BUT it was not all over and done with and taken care of. I understand that the perp was young (even 15 is young, really) and his parents weren’t eager to ruin his entire life. I would have been okay with them seeking counseling, first for him, to help him understand why what he did was heinous, and then to help him learn how to NEVER re-offend, and then counseling as a family, so the girls could have their say in a safe environment, and a sense of justice would have been maintained.

But apparently the parents didn’t seek out any sort of real treatment or counseling for him. They just sent him off to do some sort of work punishment. That didn’t give the girls their say, or a sense of justice. And I don’t see how it could have helped him at all. So the parents’ “dealing with it” was crap. If the dog poops on the carpet, sweeping it under the carpet isn’t “dealing with it.” You have to deal with all the ramifications. Which they either didn’t want to or were totally incompetent to realize.

Anyway, I don’t like the media circus, but perhaps at last the girls feel heard and vindicated. I hope so.

Grace Greater Than Our Sin
There is blood in the water and the sharks are in a feeding frenzy. Finally, the Duggar family’s opponents have found what they have been eagerly waiting for: shocking revelations of scandal by Jim Bob and Michelle’s firstborn son, Josh.

It’s as if their whole lives have been delegitimized. But its really infuriating to know that TLC knew this was in their background.

it is interesting that the family is being crucified in there handling of the nasty business of there son victimizing his younger sisters. this is a family with over 19 kids in it. it does not surprise me that there was one child or I should say teen ager ( josh was 14 when he did this) who has done something vile. in my family I have seven other sibling and one of my siblings is in jail for murder and in my opinion should of been executed for what he did. so the question I ask is if my brother committed murder should my whole family be judged on his action. the same for the Duggars should the whole family be judged for there one kids action. the truth about what happen in that family is that it is a normal family with problems of normal families. another truth is that incest and child molestation happens all to often in families and the reason why we react to it the way we do is that it is common to have been a victim of it. I would not be surprised if josh himself had been victimized though that is not an excuse for what he did.

I’ve read about half of the comments and I wondered :

Some of these commenters are
like a dog with a bone, they won’t let it go until every last bit of flavor is gone.
Or like a pack of sharks in a feeding frenzy, they keep biting and feeding until there’s nothing left to consume.

Then about some, I wonder what’s in their past that makes them so vengeful and, dare I say, hateful?
I find myself hoping they seek counselling for whatever it may be.

Then there are some in this world who hate because it makes them feel better about themselves.

Then some just love to see that other peoples lives have misery and heartbreak too. And they feel a bit better about their own lives.

For myself, I will pray for the family and all who try to tear them down as well as for myself, because the Lord knows I have skeletons enough of my own and have no need to borrow someone else’s.

Flame away if it makes you feel better.
I wear my big boy pants every day.
