Dallas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress said Sunday during his "Countdown to the Apocalypse," sermon series that it was Satan who delivered the religion of Islam to the prophet Muhammad and further asserted that following that religion will "lead you to hell."
In his six-week sermon series, Jeffress, who pastors Dallas' 11,000-member First Baptist Church, explains how Jesus told of the rise of radical Islam and that increased Christian persecution around the world would "precede His return to this Earth."
In a Sunday sermon, the 59-year-old attempted to debunk the claim that Muhammad was delivered Islam by an angel and stated that the angel Muhammad saw was really the devil desguised "as an angel of light."
"It was Satan himself who delivered those delusions to those people to lead people by the millions away from God," Jeffress said. "Islam is a false religion that will lead you to hell. It is based on a false book that is based on a fraud. It was founded by a false prophet who was leading people away instead of to the one true God," he said during the May 10 sermon tited: "Christians in the Crosshairs."
Jeffress added that just as the Antichrist will seek to rid the world of Jews and Christians, religious minorities across the world are being killed and persecuted at an alarming rate by Islamic radicals who feel called by their faith to commit such acts.

Wasn’t she the one that was older than he? A cougar?
Bravo to Robert Jeffress. I thought Franklin Graham was stating the truth, but this is by far a clearer picture.
I just ordered some of his tapes - looks like I’ll have to get some more!
I was teasing MeshugeMikey, English didn’t exist as a language in the 7th century
His first wife who was IIRC in her forties.
Name the fruit that came from Islam? Obama?!?!? He’s a bit fruity and his wife is just plain nuts.
Yes, Mad Mo married a rich widow. Her money gave him his start into his political religion. Sort of like John Kerry.
An EXCELLENT comparison.
I can’t take issue with Jeffress on this subject.
Not really.
Makes as much sense as any other explanation. Maybe more.
These pre-trib types have been seeing the anti-christ under every rock and the rapture around every corner for decades.
That’s a brave man.
Telling the truth in a time of universal deceit is revolutionary.
I knew that.
The trilogy (the three documents which make up the Islamic faith)....are mostly about what others remembered from the various stories. The trilogy comes up after Muhammad passes on and there’s a serious group of members who are tired of the violent nature of the religion...desiring now to separate and walk away. The leadership left of the religion then starts to collect the stories, mount an offensive against those trying to quit, and keep the thing going.
Once you into the stories....it goes in various directions. At some point, Muhammad even offers advice on keeping a dog. You get to a point of wondering why you need some prophet telling you advice on dogs. The same way with him telling you how to beat your wife properly.
I think the pope would disagree with Dr. Jeffress.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t Lucifer, aka Satan, the most beautiful angel of light and great beauty that God ever created? Yet, inside he became so full of the greatest amount of jealousy over God’s love of humanity, that rather then following God’s plan for angels to be of service to humanity, he, Lucifer, instead became a creature of the utmost anger, hatred, vitriol, venom and violence that evil came into existence and the sole purpose of his existence became to torture and destroy humanity and thus hurt God.
So, yes, the ideas of islam may have come from an angel; the angel who fell from God’s grace and became known as the devil. Thus, these ideas deserve a reality check. No phobia, just islamo-true, islamo-real, islam-actual rather then the islamo-false narrative that strives to protect those who are unable to handle the truth, from being forced to see reality and admit it, and demand something be done about it before another catastrophic terrorist attack can occur. The world changed on 911, yet there appears to still the be same 910 denial of what the consequences of allowing the ideas of islam to exist will have for humanity.
>>Was she six years old then, or nine, or an old lady in her teens?
One of his early wives. Possibly Wife #1. The 9 year old was much later when he started collecting women and girls.
But you totally missed the point. The angel WAS a demon and he knew it, but he was talked out of knowing the truth and accepting the lie and that allowed Satan to gain a foothold in human history that he had never really had before. Islam gave him the ability to rewrite the gospel and to bring a believable evil into the world. If he had just created the “Church of Satan”, people would have pushed that away (except for very small number of kooks).
That's true of most any two religions that make truth claims, though -- Christianity and Islam aren't unique in that. You can say the same of e.g., Judaism and Hinduism.
No thinking Christian can possibly even consider the idea that Mo was given the Koran by a (non-fallen) angel, since God is not the author of contradiction.
Gee, you don't say! Aside from some fringe cult movement in Africa that attempts to combine the two, I haven't seen anyone argue that Islam and Christianity are both true. Muslims state that Christianity is a lie and that Islam is true, and Christians state that Islam is a lie and Christianity is true.
