The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

Heresy Alert!!
48. 3. We must never go to our Lord except through Mary, using her intercession and good standing with him.

Apologies, it was Romans 3:28, where he added the word alone. Accepted.

>>Did you hear this much Scripture read last Sunday in Church or do you stay at home on the Lords Day<<
"Lord's day". No such thing in scripture.

You may want to look up what Luther wrote about the book of James.Tell me once again why I should care what he thought about it?
I can easily read the Book that you Catholics gave me.

Ad hominem is a weak defense.
Those who resort to ad hominem realize that they cannot argue the merits of their case (because such merits do not exist).

Those are the only two who would not be dying a second death. Those are the only two who have not yet died. "once to die".

John 3:3
Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Is you is or is you ain't?
To: CynicalBear
Enoch did not die a death but was taken up.
To: CynicalBear
2 Kings 13:14 Elisha died...Enoch did not (Hebrews 11:5).

>>Enoch did not die a death but was taken up.<<
Which say he has not yet died. Two witnesses can't be angels, they can't die. Place yer bets. :-)
Of course there could be other possibilities. But to hold to scripture that "once to die" is correct......well....

The only point I’ve tried to make is that these threads make FR look foolish. Those off their meds make it look even worse.

So far the only two who have not died are Elijah and Enoch.
Some do argue about Moses since his appearances at the Transfiguration.

>>Did you hear this much Scripture read last Sunday in Church or do you stay at home on the Lords Day<< "Lord's day". No such thing in scripture. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

Except we know the Moses died once already. That would be at odds with scripture.

Conservatives and Christians already look foolish to Liberals and Atheists.
Relax and enjoy some good wrestling over the Lord's Word.
I always come away from these discussions wiser and more knowledgeable.
Prots aren't bashing Catholics, they are just speaking their minds.
Believe me, some Protestant churches occasionally become cults. So might some Catholic parishes. It isn't the end of the world to simply explore these matters.
Actually, it is pretty scary when folks refuse to examine themselves and their beliefs. That's what Muslims do (i.e. refuse to examine themselves).
Prots know full-well that Spirit-filled Catholics are going to Heaven...we're just arguing over the fine print.
To: CynicalBear
You are correct. But some theologians have posited that because the Archangel Michael wrestled with Satan over the body of Moses, perhaps God did not bury Moses as stated.
And I know you will recall, God kept Moses burial location a secret.
No inside info on my part. Just passing on what I have read from strange theological musings.

The only point Ive tried to make is that these threads make FR look foolish. Those off their meds make it look even worse. FR will survive. As for the Catholic haters, they're not off meds. No cure for what ails them, so ignore. I rarely post on thsese threads and only rarely read them when I happen to see them scroll by on the latest comments page.

LOL I knew you would come back with that. The Greek shows that should read “in (or among) the day belonging to the Lord. “The day of the Lord” is used 25 times in scripture and always refers to the last days. Only in paganism is “the Lords day” referring to a day of worship.
