The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

You are right I have no proof, but I do have faith in the teaching of the Catholic Church that she was assumed into Heaven.
Obviously, you have no proof that this assumption of body and soul did not happen.
Furthermore, you might want to consider the words of Jesus to Peter in matthew 16.
18k And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church,* and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. 19l I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.* Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Catholic 101
What does The Assumption Mean?
by Fr. Larry Rice, CSP On November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII declared the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which the church celebrates every year on August 15th. Simply put, the Assumption states that at the end of her life, the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken body and soul into heaven.
While this event isnt reflected in Sacred Scripture, it is clearly part of the Churchs earliest observance. In the 6th century, St. John Damascene wrote in one of his sermons, Your sacred and happy soul, as nature will have it, was separated in death from your most blessed and immaculate body, and although the body was duly interred, it did not remain in the state of death, neither was it dissolved by decay; your most pure and sinless body was not left on earth, but you were transferred to your heavenly throne.
Theologically speaking, death is often understood to be a consequence of original sin. Since Mary was conceived without original sin, some theologians have wondered if Mary died, or perhaps was taken into heaven without experiencing death. The Catechism of the Catholic Church doesnt answer this question, but simply states The most blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven.
The feast of the Assumption reminds us of the unique role that Mary served in the process of our salvation. Although she was without sin, we have the possibility of receiving Gods forgiveness through Christ. Her entry into heaven prefigures our own hope of experiencing the same eternal life.

>>have you ever read the Catechism of the Catholic Church?<<
I have often had to inform Catholics what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that they didn't know. I just did it a few posts back.
>>have you ever read the Apostolic and Early Church Fathers?<<
How many times do we have to post statements and sermons of your "early church fathers" which contradict Catholic statements here to prove that to you?

Pffft. How many times have you seen Catholics here claim other Catholics are poorly "catechized"?

One of the hidden dangers I see in religions who encourage the living to pray TO the dead is that they are attributing powers ONLY God has to created beings. Not only is God alone able to hear our prayers, He is also alone in knowing our
thoughts and the intents of our hearts. NOWHERE in Scripture are we ever commanded, advised or is it even suggested that the "dead in Christ" (a Biblical term) are to be sought out for worship or intercession. All the rationalizations and double speak used by those to try to make it an acceptable practice never seem to address the underlying assumptions involved in such acts.
If I pray to Mary, for example, to intercede with Christ to help me find a job, not only do I have to presume she can hear my prayers - even nonverbal, thought prayers - I have to believe she can see my heart's motivation for asking this. How could Mary know if my prayer is so that I might avoid doing something I don't like? I have to also presume she knows everything going on in my life - that she has both omnipresence (is everywhere) and omniscience (has all knowledge). I find no place in Scripture that those attributes belong to anyone BUT Almighty God. Not even angels have that capacity. There's a reason we are told to worship God alone - because He is worthy of ALL praise and glory.

LOL The propaganda of the Catholic Church twist of scripture isn’t very affective on those of us who have not been so indoctrinated.

The Catholic Church claims Jesus came down to earth to get her and even spoke with the apostles. How many times does scripture say Christ will return? Did He tell His apostles they would not see Him again until when? Did He lie to them when He ascended into heaven?

And because they are seen receiving these prayers, we can reasonably conclude they were both directed to these saints in heaven and that they were initiated by the faithful living on earth. Oh?
Lotsa concludin' goin' on there!

We don’t deny that the Catholic Church uses enough scripture to make it appear legit. They even use some of it without twisting it.

Im sure your god will be pleased
Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."
1 John 3:21-23
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Why do you and others insist on posting inaccurate information about the teachings of the Church, and then follow up with absurd statements? Why do YOU comnplain about inaccuracies; and then NEVER seem to be able to point them out?

>>Your comment: Because the RCC teaches lies....assumption of Mary, immaculate conception, indulgences, etc....<<
Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Pleas show where the apostles taught the assumption of Mary. Or should we consider those who teach that as accursed and teaching lies?

The Holy Spirit is with everyone who has accepted Jesus. The Bible tells us everything we need to know on how to live a Christ-like life. I think some of y’all need to let the HS into their lives a little more often.
