The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

A document [Catechism of the Catholic Church] that is "a sure and authentic reference text for teaching Catholic doctrine."Do they have a document for teaching the Christian doctrine?
My point is that some documents, including documents from Popes and Saints, contain statements that are not in accord with Catholic doctrine.
Why not? Shouldn't they be included when they are pronounced from such esteemed hierarchal figures, some in beautiful colorful Pharisaical attire?
I mean come on, popes and saints. Almost on the level of the Catholic Mary.

...”Catholics sound a lot like the Israelites when Moses tried to take them up the mountain into Gods presence. They refused to go because they were afraid and told Moses to go alone and bring Gods instructions to them.”.....
Especially fearful if they are not His to begin with, rather simply practice catholicism’s churchianity.....which for some , and for a time, this is sufficient for it gives a “feeling” of being among and fellowhip of belonging. But without Being saved the most they will get is no different then when one belongs to any organization...a place and perhaps position but the heart is far from God....and their sins they still carry.

Yes, like this. It is a statement of official Catholic doctrine that can be discussed.
I have to admit that I was taken aback when I first saw this paragraph. My first thought was, yeah, try telling a Muslim who is ready to lop your head off, “Hey, we adore the same God of Abraham, and he includes both of us in his plan of salvation.” Kerplop.
Then I came across 1058, The Church prays that no one should be lost: Lord, let me never be parted from you. If it is true that no one can save himself, it is also true that God desires all men to be saved (1 Tim 2:4), and that for him all things are possible (Mt 19:26).
This is one of those things I leave for God to figure out.

And people wonder why Osteen is so popular...
Osteen’s teachings are as false as the Catholics.

True, but the point remains that when I think "who do I know who is righteous?" While for me it's...

That is sufficient justification for the authentic Christians to do the same.Translation: authentic equals straw grasping

The "vain repetitions" part is nowhere in the Gospel either.Matthew disagrees with you.

That's what comes to my mind reading the same old comments from a few of the usual suspects on these threads. The ignorant bigots?
Or the bigoted ignoramuses?

I'm just looking at the results. Me, too; but I'd like to get past any speculation.
Is the info available on the Web?

The Church does not teach that works of any law play any role in salvation either. ROME just teaches that you MUST work to KEEP your salvation.

<> ...."Correct. This is why it is necessary to pray to saints, so that they can take you to Him"....
No wonder you appear so confused. Depending on the departed rather than Jesus Himself, as HE's asked us to, will surely cause you to see everything at best through a veil and at worst not at all , and most often deceived.

That's a long way from proclaiming they both serve the same god.
>>This is one of those things I leave for God to figure out.<<
It's a proclamation of the Catholic Church. If they can't even discern that Muslims do NOT serve the same God of scripture how on earth would anyone trust them to discern anything else?
