The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

No. You’re - not surprisingly - confusing two different things. The authority behind the decree (papal infallibility) is not the same thing as the Assumption (the teaching). The Assumption is not the decree. Papal Infallibility is not the Assumption. The teaching existed BEFORE the decree. Thus, the importance of the dogma or teaching rests not on the decree or its perceived importance for papal infallibility but in relation to the totality of the Church’s doctrines. And by that scale, the Assumption is very small.

The correct question is: How does an anti-Catholic confuse the actual doctrine of the Assumption with the authority (papal infallibility) underlining the decree it is in as if they are one and the same when they are not?
Again, are these two things the same:
1) Papal infallibility
2) Assumption of Mary
The answer is no. The two are linked in that decree for the pope DEFINED the parameters of the Assumption, but the Assumption of Mary itself is still just the Assumption of Mary itself. It has not become Papal Infallibility, nor has Papal Infallibility become the Assumption of Mary.

I never asked how important the Assumption of Mary was. I asked about “The assumption of Mary” being a “major dogma of the Catholic Church.” The Assumption is an event. The dogma of the Assumption is a dogma about the event. They’re not one in the same. Even you must realize that the Bible and the doctrine of the Bible Alone are actually two different things, right?
So in order to defend your beliefs you have to use words that are not allowed in the Religion Forum? Wow!

And yet no Catholic can show any source for the belief in the assumption of Mary or bowing to idols or even that the traditions they claim are the same traditions the apostles were talking about. Now if you want to believe that stuff that's your business. But don't come in here proclaiming to be the Church that Jesus founded trying to convince others to join you and not be challenged.

NO, I base my beliefs on what scripture teaches and confirmation and guidance by the Holy Spirit promised us by Christ. As Paul advised I search the scriptures to see if what others teach is true.

No, the person making the claim has the responsibility to back it up.
If he or she doesn't then the claim can be summarily dismissed as a fabrication or wishful thinking. It's not *It's true because I said so and you have to prove me wrong.*
It needs to be, *It's true and here are the proofs* can you show me they're wrong?*
Sending some one off on a fools errand demonstrates that the person making the claim has nothing on which to base it.
