The Portland Oregonian has reported in the last hour: “Numerous Facebook posts by relatives and friends indicate Brittany Maynard, the terminally ill 29-year-old who has said she moved to Oregon to use the Death with Dignity Act, has died.”

Suicide is murder. It’s deliberately taking a human life.

Also if she’s not a Christian, she doesn’t have to be forgiven for anything.

So the 911 muslim suicide bombers don’t have to be forgiven for anything? They get a pass, also?

The whole situation is unsettling. It would be different if done in private. This publicity is bothersome.

One thing I have not understood. This woman had all her faculties and abilities. Why would she need assistance with suicide?

...how does that square with those who throw themselves on a grenade to save the other members of a platoon in a war zone?

They aren't throwing themselves on a grenade for the express purpose of killing themselves; they're doing it for the purpose of saving others.

...can you lose your salvation? Not based on the Bible. ...

If one who has been saved subsequently converts to Islam, goes on jihad, straps-on a suicide vest and kills themselves and others, and maims many more, will they still be welcomed at the Pearly Gates by the Celestial Brass Band?

We as Christians in the church age have overcome the moment we trusted in Jesus to be our Savior...

I have overcome nothing - I deal with the temptations of this world daily and expect this to be the case until I draw my last breath.

For me, I do my best to do God's will (works) daily and walk in His path. I have no idea what tomorrow may bring.

I understand where you come from...But how much scripture do you have to leave out to come to your conclusion...There's far, far to many verses like this one plus the others I have posted that counter your position...

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

I’m sure that she was quite surprised that Christ met her at the moment of her death (particular judgment) and gave her perfect justice.

What she never realized is that while we are alive Christ is perfect mercy (which she never asked for), and at the moment of our death, Christ is perfect justice.

And you thought cancer was bad, Brittany? Heh!

Didn’t she lose her salvation by taking her own life? Denying God’s will? A sin of the Holy Spirit that is unforgiveable either in the Confessional or by God.

Denying God’s will? A sin of the Holy Spirit that is unforgiveable either in the Confessional or by God.

Anytime we sin we deny God's will. His will is for us to not sin.

Therefore, based on catholic teaching, none of us can be forgiven for any sins we commit. That's some plan catholics have.

Good thing we have the Bible to show us otherwise for it teaches that ALL sins are forgiven.

Where did you get the idea that's "catholic teaching"?

Would she lose her salvation by converting it Islam, going “jihad”/suicide-bomber, killing herself and killing/maiming dozens of other people?

I just can't envision a Christian denying Jesus Christ and turning to Izlam...

Apparently you are trying to make a point but if you can't argue the point from scripture, you don't have a point...
