A Methodist pastor who was disciplined after he officiated at the wedding of his gay son will be allowed to remain an ordained minister.
The Judicial Council of the nation’s second-largest Protestant denomination ruled Monday that a Pennsylvania church jury was wrong to defrock Frank Schaefer last year after he would not promise never to perform another same-sex wedding.
The council ruled on technical grounds and did not express support for gay marriage in general. Its decision is final.
Reached by phone after the decision, Schaefer called it “amazing.” …

It is no different than any political entity.
Sad.
So glad I left the UMC this past summer. It’s only going to get worse in the denomination that stands for nothing.
Anyone who performs a same-sex marriage is not a pastor or a Christian.

Those scarves are why I left the UMC immediately after returning home from Florida Annual Conference this year. The true sacraments of the “new” UMC are abortion for the ladies and sodomy for the guys. Everything else is negotiable.
At least seven UMC pastors have been defrocked over officiating same-sex unions.... Philly.com reports that four other pastors awaiting trial by the UMC for similar offenses, or in at least one case, being homosexual themselves...... They include..... Rev. Steve Heiss of Upper New York, Rev. Thomas Ogletree of New York, Rev. Gordy Hutchins of Pacific Northwest, and Rev. Sara Thompson Tweedy of New York.
The official stance of the UMC is pro-life.
Same with some of the Lutheran churches...and other Protestant mainline churches who have joined in with the World Council of Churches...just a matter of time before the "infilitration" shows itself stronger and in control.

Which is fast fading......it was also an official stance that opposed homosexuality and we see that didn’t stand “officially” either.
I wonder what went wrong with the fourth one.

How much further can the United Methodist Church get from biblical values? Oh wait the Old Testament does not mean anything today in many churches. But guess what all of scriptures is relevant today. So many people will be deceived by the so called christian leaders in the church. Yes many will be led astray by false preachers and false teachers.

UMC . . .is this one of the denominations that are removing “The Blood of Jesus” from their hymnals? Also don’t they support the world council of churches? In our town they don’t even own their building that they paid for initially as well as all of the remodeling and additions. Most of the congregation don’t have a clue. One country UMC disbanded after they disagreed with “headquarters”. They had remodeled the historical building which ended up being money down the tubes. . .since they didn’t own it. One of the “headquarter” representatives said he would rather see it be a Coon Hunters Lodge than a church. OK so I don’t know the Methodist jargon “headquarters”.
