Honoring Mary, Mother of Mercy

Why do we call Mary the Mother of Mercy?

With both the Marian month of May and Mother’s Day on the horizon, it’s an appropriate time to reflect on this title.

St. Faustina Kowalska tells us she heard Mary refer to herself by this name: "I am not only the Queen of Heaven, but also the Mother of Mercy and your mother" (Diary of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul, 330).

And Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI spoke of Mary using this title during his Angelus message shortly after celebrating Mass at Amman International Stadium during his Holy Land trip in May 2009.

"During the Mass, I spoke about the prophetic charism of women as bearers of love, teachers of mercy and artisans of peace," Benedict said. "The supreme model of womanly virtue is the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy and Queen of Peace."

A Model for Mothers

The Mother of Mercy is the ultimate motherly model to follow, according to Catholic mothers.

Yeah, right.

You pray/petition to her.

False attributes have been attributed to her regarding her perpetual virginity, conception, her intercession, etc.

Icons/relics are maintained in houses

I could go on but that's enough.

Then who would that happen to be?

There is no Queen of Heaven.

Why the protestant war with the mother of Christ?

There is no war. That is all imagined. We just don't worship venerate her above anybody else because all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God (including her).

“because all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God (including her)”

And what sin are you aware of committed by the Mother of God.
Ever heard of the Immaculate Conception.

So Mary isn’t part of ‘all’? Not a human? The woman who called God her Savior? Savior from what exactly?

MOST HUMBLE OF US ALL

In trying to know you, Mother
I came to know your Son.
In trying to seek you, Mother,
I only found your Son.

In trying to touch you, Mother,
I finally felt your Son.
In trying to hear you Mother,
the words were from your Son.

In trying to make you happy
The joy flowed from your Son.
In trying to love you, Mary,
I have come to love your Son.

Most beautiful of mothers,
You are the humble one,
For when we try to reach you,
We end up with your Son.

Why can’t we find you, Mother,
You must be there with Him.
But it’s Jesus we always find,
In our world growing dim.

Your place above the angels,
Yet humblest of us all.
You always show us Jesus,
No matter how we call.

Most humble of all Mothers,
Your work is finally done.
Thank you blessed Mary,
You have given us your Son.

John the Baptist was also born without original sin.

I ask other people to pray for me.

I have pictures of some of those people in my house.

Tell me where the error is there.

The sin of being born into humanity and all of what goes with that.

Ever heard of the Immaculate Conception.

Yes, I've heard of it. If applied to Mary it would be a pagan concept though. You have elevated the creature to equality with the Creator which is blasphemy.

“And the angel came in unto her, and said, hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.” - Luke 1:28

It is the term “full of grace” that is emphasized by the Church when dealing with Mary’s Immaculate Conception. The title “full of grace” comes from the Greek word kecharitomene, which describes a “perfection” and “abundance” of grace. In other words, Mary was proclaimed by the angel to be with a perfection of grace, which was a very powerful statement. How can Mary be completely and perfectly with God’s grace, yet still have sin left in her? Christians eventually came to recognize that it was extremely possible for Mary to be without sin, especially if she was completely filled with God’s grace. Luke 1:28 happens to be the only place in the Bible where anyone is addressed with the important title of “full of grace.”

“…the Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.” - Luke 1:35

Luke 1:35 shows Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant. According to the Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant was the pure and holy vessel that held the Ten Commandments (the Old Covenant). The Ark was so holy in fact, that if anyone where to touch it they could actually fall down and die! It was housed in the Holy of Holies, which was a perfectly clean place where the Jewish high priests could enter only once a year according to their law (See Lev. 16:2-4). So how are Mary and the Ark related? The same language that describes God’s “dwelling” place for the Old Ark is used again for Mary’s overshadowing by the Holy Spirit. Put another way, the Old Ark held God’s Ten Commandments and could not be touched by human hands because of its holiness. Mary, the New Ark, holds the New Covenant in her womb, which is Jesus Christ. How much holier is Christ than the Ten Commandments? It only makes sense that for Mary to hold God in her womb, she too would be completely pure and without any sin.

“I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your seed (offspring) and hers; He (she) will crush your head while you strike at his (her) heel.” - Genesis 3:15

What does the book of Genesis have to do with Mary’s Immaculate Conception? Genesis 3:15 is the first passage in the Bible that refers to Jesus defeating Satan on the cross. It is also the first verse that shows us how Mary would become the New Eve. The seed of the woman, who would crush the serpent’s head, is Jesus. The woman at enmity, or hostility with the serpent, is Mary. It was God who put this hostility between Mary and Satan (the serpent), and it is believed to be in the same likeness as Christ’s hostility for the seed of the serpent. What exactly does all this mean? For Mary to be like Christ in His hostility for Satan forever, it is very possible to say that this passage implies Mary’s lack of sin. What better way is there to be in total hostility with Satan than to be in God’s constant grace? As the New Eve, Mary undid the “no” of the Old Testament Eve by saying, “yes” to carry Jesus.

Catholicism IS Christianity.

It presents a false history
It preaches a false gospel
It propagates false doctrine
It provides a false hope
It produces false converts

Quoted from the ‘how to pray the rosary instruction booklet:
Whoever shall faithfully SERVE ME (MARY) by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.

And Joshua answered and said unto him, ‘Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship Yah thy Elohim, and HIM ONLY SHALT THOU SERVE.

With her first promise in her how to pray the rosary instruction manual, she contradicts scripture..

Satanic is exactly what it is..
Counterfeit is exactly what it is..
Substitute Messiah is exactly what it is...
Subtle yes, but Satan has worked subtlety for centuries.. He already has the secular humanists after all..

And the protestant daughters are following her mother church in ways that should bring a lump to their throat if they really want to examine it and be honest..

I think catholics have a very good point when they say mary points to jesus in some form or fashion:(even mentions him once by name in those promises- she had time to squeeze one in with all the I, Me, and My)

So why does this lying substitute point to jesus?
Maybe because jesus is a greco roman latin substitute messiah for the True Messiah of Israel.

A greco roman latin Substitute with substitute holy days( december 25 and easter), sabbaths (saturnsday or suns day), and even a substitute name ( instead of English transliterated name of Joshua - at least if one speaks English- see acts 7:45 and hebrews 4:8 to see if ‘Joshua’ has replaced those ‘Jesus’ references to the old testament in your bibles)

If your bible has changed those two Jesus references to the English transliteration joshu, why not the 900 plus other ones ( some translactions have kept those as Jesus BTW)?
I think it is an honest question if we wish for truth to win out.

And protestants and catholics alike would say I am a heretic for even posing the question of whether the Jesus of the churches is the messiah or claiming as I do that he is a substitution for Joshua, the True Messiah of Israel who did come at appointed time , was cirumcised at an appointed time, dedicate to the temple at an appointed time, baptized at an appointed time, executed at an appointed time and raised at an appointed time - all according to His Word. And His appointed times bear no resemblance to the churches substitute appointed times..

For protestants, mary appears to be one of the only few things the protestant daughters have in opposition...
If a protestants who hate this Mary stuff, reads this-
They should examine what else are their denominations are actually sharing with their mother.

The true church is one that worships in spirit and truth and it may not be in a building..
After studying and revelation, I don’t see it in either the Roman Catholic Church (thanks to this Mary stuff) or in her protestant daughters(because of the shared traditions passed down - like an inheritance- Jeremiah did speak of inherited lies from our fathers)

Almost like the whole world is living one big counterfeit lie and accepting a counterfeit false premise..
And that is certainly one way satan can deceive even the very elect..make them accept a subtle false premise long enough and it begins to be considered ‘given truth’..
To where protestants and Catholics would find me and my beliefs as nonsense...

I think roman catholics and protestants should examine what they truly have faith in..
Is it their church teaching? Their own learning ? They defend their churches
Like a bear defends her cubs on this forum..

If we have inherited lies, even if we are honestly mitsken in accepting them, where is the Truth?

Truth wasn’t in that first promise this Mary gave.. we prove that by quoting the Messiah of Israel.
If she lied, then she isn’t pointng us to the Son of the Living Elohim. And what she points us to, even if we were taught it from a very early age, isn’t the Way, the Truth or the Life..
That isn’t easy for people to accept..some will continue to defend their faith in that.

So,I now can say I doubt the churches (plural) stances on almost everything because I don’t accept their premise to begin with...

I believe the Messiah of Israel will meet all of us where we are...even if we knew his name as jesus.. But He Loves us too much to let us stay there..

May He bless your journey out of Babylon..

Mary acknowledges she needed a Savior.

She was acknowledging her sin.

There's no mention of Isaiah sinning in the Bible either. Doesn't mean he was conceived immaculately.

To: what's up

Mary was conceived without sin, and chosen at the beginning of time to be the Mother of Christ. Her sin was forgiven, thus, before she was born.

God can do all things. It’s called the Immaculate Conception.

Do some studying on it and you will find out that this is the truth.
