Only trusting the Bible without the Church would be like loving "Romeo & Juliet" and hating Shakespeare's explanation of it.

The edicts of Orange were quite clear on what the Catholic faith held dear. When Rome came up with the heresy of Trent, according to Orange, it became anathema.
Wrong! But we have lovely parting gifts!
And yet they screwed it up beyong recognition.
Yes, it is right, as Scripture is what it right, in contrast to the demigodess status provided to Mary by Catholics after the flesh. You seem to think that simply posting more extraBiblical praise to Mary is an argument, but it simply borders in idolatry to us, and which is not to the glory of God.
And actually, Gamecock had just posted that article: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/3131080/posts?page=10
Just what are you going to do about it?
You are just going to have to lump it is all.
AMDG
Thanks.
So, the Holy Spirit got it wrong, eh?
I don’t see HIM use the terms interchangeably.
Words means things and words say things that mean things.
*Mother of God* does not say or mean the same thing as *Mother of Jesus*.
The best correction for heresy is not to create another one but to correct the wrong teaching. There are better ways of correcting error than teaching that GOD had a mother and therefore was not eternal.
So are you saying that Jesus is not God? The Second Person of the Trinity?
It means all you have are assertions, which is par for Rome, but is not how the church began. Good Night.
Thanks.
Sal:So are you saying that Jesus is not God? The Second Person of the Trinity?
OK. Let's follow Catholic reasoning.
Did Mary give birth to Jesus?
If Jesus = God, then if Mary gave birth to Jesus, she gave birth to God.
That makes Him the created being and makes Mary the creator of God.
Do you see where the error in the name leads to heresy itself?
Can you not see that instead of correcting someone's view of Jesus, it creates new errors in many more ways?
Now you all have a God who is a created being, a woman who is the creator, who gave birth to God.
Instead of renaming Mary to correct error about who Jesus is, which doesn't do the job, the better way would have been to just to go right back to Scripture (which seems to be anathema to Catholics). Read Matthew 1:23 and John 1:1 and the issue is settled.
How simple is that? Way simpler and more effective than setting up a whole new batch of errors.
**That makes Him the created being and makes Mary the creator of God.**
NOT!
You are forgetting the Holy Spirit’s part in her conception of Jesus Christ.
You are espousing the Arian heresy
-— *Mother of God* does not say or mean the same thing as *Mother of Jesus*. -—
Jesus is God, as you know. And Mary was, and is, His Mother.
Obviously, Mary was not the mother of Jesus’ eternal nature.
This really isn’t difficult to understand.
The argument is just a silly anti-Catholic canard, like “call no man father.” Most proponents of this objection seem to be unaware of the fact that they call their own fathers, “father,” and that Jesus also tells us to “call no man teacher.” Clearly Jesus is using hyperbole to make a point.
What? Using Scripture to correct erroneous teaching is heresy? It’s better to change Scripture and create more error instead?
Weird world Catholics live in.
Thank you.
"OBVIOUSLY"
When Mary is called the *mother of GOD* that is EXACTLY what is being said and taught.
