Almighty Father, You knew us before our mothers did, please hold this couple in Your Hands, Grant them health, as is Thy will, and grant that one of the babies may survive unharmed. Grant also, to this couple the Faith to know that You have a plan which works out best for all, the Strength to endure and thrive, and the Peace of Spirit only You can grant. As others have posted above, we went through a miscarriage; it’s difficult emotionally. If that is the case with your son and daughter in law, I would pray they allow themselves the full grieving their loss entails, and that they will be blessed with children in the future.

When we went through this and talked with family and church friends for support, we were amazed how many had been through similar events. Not pleasant to talk about, but a world of support awaits those who broach the subject about their own pain.

Eventually, because of my wife’s emotional strength in this issue based upon her relationship with God, our OB/GYN ended up recommending her to talk with a couple complete strangers because he believed my wife could help them. Where you are on your walk with God can be all the difference.
