Heber C. Kimball also believed & prophesied that Joseph Smith would return before the second coming of the Lord and associated his return with this period. After prophesying of the destruction which would sweep the western portion of Missouri, he foresaw that
The pressure will become so great that the more righteous among them will cry unto the Lord day and night until deliverance comes.
Then the Prophet Joseph and others will make their appearance and those who have remained faithful will be selected to return to Jackson County, Missouri and take part in the building of that beautiful city, the New Jerusalem.
Thus, the authorities of the Church have anticipated the raising up of a leader who will guide the Saints in their establishment of New Jerusalem, and several have expressed the thought that this person may be Joseph Smith as a resurrected being. Suffice it to say that Latter-day Saints expect to return to Jackson County under inspired leadership and with power.

“Will Joseph Smith’s Second Coming occur in 2014?”
Uh, no.
So Mormons consider Smith equal to Jesus Christ? Wow, I did not know that about Mormons. It’s sad, really sad.
Aaron Rogers’ might, though.
When Joey comes back will he have groupies or get married to a bunch of women in a mass marriage ceremony?
Sounds like one of the many False Prophets the Bible speaks of..
Great - just what we need; another holy pedaphile phony priest!
Essentially, yes. At least Mormon Church leadership -- even if not so across the board @ grassroots level.
For further documentation of how Mormon Church leaders substitute Joseph Smith for Jesus Christ in other ways, see:
...last chart of Smith as a "substitute" 'way' in Mormon Tabernacle Choir conductor: 'Praise to the Man'...hymn praises Joseph Smith [Smithmas vanity]
And: How would YOU score on this 26-question quiz about 'Smithmas?' [Vanity, Part A]
And: What a Liturgical Order of Smithmas Sacrament Meeting Might look like! [Vanity, Part B]
Please note that these kinds of Mormon leader quotes weren't discontinued in being published by the Mormon church, as evidenced by citations that have surfaced from 1925, 1944, 1954, 1966-67, and 1982.
Matt 24:36
No. He will be staying buried until the return of Jesus Christ to judge him.
The Mormons and Scientologists should merge.
Well, while you may have asked this Q in jest, once the Mormon jesus returns...don't be surprised that it could happen.
I have in my hand a 1979 published "Mormon Doctrine" book by Lds "apostle" Bruce McConkie. The book was originally published in 1958, but was directed by Lds "prophet" David O. McKay to be revised in 1966.
McConkie made the changes after McKay assigned Lds first counselor Marion G. Romney to review the book, and assigned first counselor -- later to be named "prophet" -- Spencer W. Kimball...to serve as McConkie's "mentor" during the revision process.
So, what I'm saying is this book was reviewed for "OK" status (in its revision state) by two Lds "prophets" -- plus was published later by the Lds Church book publisher Deseret.
So on p. 578, McConkie writes:
"Obviously the holy practice [entry is under "Plural Marriage" category] will commence again after the Second Coming of the Son of Man and the ushering in of the millennium."
So, what about all that PR that Mormons have put away polygamy? (Hey, they're just "biding their time" waiting for Smith & the Mormon jesus to return!)
Note: Crowther’s quotes in thread appear in his book on page 86...see also pp. 84-85 for broader context...which can be accessed by clicking on the source link of thread.
No, Mormons consider Joey Smith as the one who succeeded where God failed..
Joey Smith considered himself greater than the LORD Jesus Christ..
However in June 1844 one month after he had declared than the LORD Jesus Christ had failed and he, Joey Smith had succeeded and was greater, Jesus destroyed that foul mouthed pagan...
What’s with the carnival barker routine? You have no takers here.
You know what’s really weird?
Today we see polygamy being promoted on TV like you wouldn’t believe.
According to a WND article a rabbi from long ago (about 900 years ago) predicted that the Messiah (the real one) would show up around 2017.
In good old-fashioned Judaism the rabbis allow a Jewish man to have up to 18 wives. This is based upon the commandment for a king not to have an excess amount of wives. The rabbis asked what constituted an excessive amount and the they found was the one above. About a 1000 years ago a rabbi in Europe put a ban on polygamy because of the growth of Christianity and how it promoted monogamy.
It’s very possible that these LDS “prophets” could be correct. With the timing of the promotion of polygamy today and the Messsiah showing up just around the corner it’s possible we could see the rabbinical ban being removed by Messiah. I am of the opinion that the Mormons are biding their time. Once the Messiah declares polygamy kosher again the Mormons will be off to the races to do the same!
