Moscow/Washington, September 12, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin considers dangerous U.S. President Barack Obama's conviction that the U.S. nation is exceptional in some way.
"I carefully studied [Obama's] address to the nation on Tuesday. And I would rather disagree with a case he made on American exceptionalism, stating that the United States' policy is 'what makes America different. It's what makes us exceptional'. It is extremely dangerous to encourage people to see themselves as exceptional, whatever the motivation," Putin said in an article published in the Wednesday issue of The New York Times.
"There are big countries and small countries, rich and poor, those with long democratic traditions and those still finding their way to democracy. Their policies differ, too. We are all different, but when we ask for the Lord's blessings, we must not forget that God created us equal," Putin said.
At the same time, Putin acknowledged that his "working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust," which the Russian leader says he appreciates.
Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich,
AS a fellow Cold War survivor, there is something, eh, amiss, in your statement, ‘that God made us all equal’, I think.
Were you not the man in command of the KGB, the, eh, other great secret service in the world, for so many years, yes?
Would I be wrong to ask you to remember, that in being this, eh, equal, that all your border enforcement placements, were designed, for the personnel to be firing their weapons, towards the inside of the borders, and the people of the CCCP?
Teryens Kenyetovich.
What is the US today in the eyes of the world? Lady Gaga, and The Kartrashians.
I have to admit that is correct.
BUT, that is partially due to the warped reality created by the MSM. Look at the programming.
If you were from outside the US and only looked at our TV, you would assume the entire US is made of idiots like Hollywood gathers.
It is not.
Putin made some valid points, but was also a bit off-kilter in some of his understanding of America. All in all, I’m just pleased he slapped the snot out of Obama. I hope he keeps it up. Again and again. Slap the Kenyan POS silly. I’ll give Putin a big thumbs-up. Especially compared to the cowering and capitulating GOP, which has been entirely absent as an “opposition” party.
As for American exceptionalism... an America that now supports al-Qaeda terrorists? an America that is embracing the deviancy of homo marriage? an America that puts forth a culture symbolized by Miley Cyrus slut-dancing? an America whose populace is over fifty-percent dependent on government? an America that elects a piece of Marxist filth like Obama? No, America is hardly exceptional anymore. It’s a disgusting, vomitous shadow of its former greatness.
Have to disagree with Mr Putin there. I don’t think hussein believes America is exceptional. Maybe exceptionally bad/wrong in his eyes, he certainly has been trying to change it. While I agree we are all created equal (though with different innate talents) I believe America is exceptional in our freedoms and liberty. Though we are currently far less-so than we were a few years ago due in large part to rampant liberal fascism.
Putin leads off his editorial by stating that the United Nations is in danger of extinction if the United States does not consult with and abide by it’s decisions on Syria.
Finally someone has provided a reason to bomb Damascus.
OK, we are average. So what does that make Russia?
At least Russia is headed in the right direction.
It will take at least several generations to undo all the damage the Bolsheviks did in the 70 years they were in power.
The kenyan Fuehrer IS exceptional, no doubt about it.
He is an exceptional ass.
He is an exceptional POS.
He is an exceptional enemy to the Constitution.
He is an exceptional liar.
...fill in the rest, the list is long.
He certainly bitch slapped Obama. That’s for sure.
Kind of ironic that it took another foreign leader to do this for us.
********
That is exactly what this quote really says:
Putin acknowledged that his "working and personal relationship with President Obama is marked by growing trust," which the Russian leader says he appreciates
Here's the passage at issue:In the 1980s, the war caucus in Congress armed bin Laden and the mujaheddin in their fight with the Soviet Union. In fact, it was the official position of the State Department to support radical jihad against the Soviets. We all know how well that worked out.Let's leave aside for now the insulting, utterly asinine, sickening, inexcusable use of the phrase "war caucus" to describe those (including Reagan!) who supported the mujaheddin against the Soviets. That word choice alone is almost entirely disqualifying for its purveyor to ever be president.
Instead, let's just look at a little history here -- because the ignorance evident in this paragraph is truly astonishing. One would be hard pressed to find even a single historian, whether right, left, or center, who would argue anything other than that the Soviet failure in Afghanistan was not just a huge factor, but probably an essential one, in the Soviets' ultimate loss of the Cold War. Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.
[by “anti-government activists” is meant church-burning jihadists]
More from the NeoSoviet dictator.
If nobama, the Clown Prince President, has his way, the “transformation” of America will end its exceptionalism.
Let me play devil’s advocate. If we are exceptional than how come we, as a nation( or majority of us), vote for imbeciles?
We are quickly descending into unexceptionalism.
When people quote that they always leave off the end which continues “in the sight of G-d” ... nobody born with a handicap of some sort is equal to someone who hasn’t nor are they richer or poorer than someone else nor having been born in a great country like the USA.
We once were exceptional—that time has passed-entitlements, feel good education, PC, and Afirmative Action has diminished this down and been replaced by childish arrogance. We may well achive our excellence again in the future—but it has been lost for some time—I think the decline came with the fall of Saigon, and the resignation of Nixon, but it might have been with the retreat from Berut with Reagan. Each year it has become worse with the USA becoming less and less free.
