Pope celebrates Ramadan with call for mutual respect between Muslims and Christians

Pope Francis on Sunday urged Christians and Muslims to promote mutual respect , especially through the education of new generations. His remarks came at the end of his Angelus address when he sent greetings to Muslims throughout the world who have just celebrated the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

You just made my point. This is all “your” interpretation of Scripture.

Of course, the Catholic Church is not just a hotel for saints but also a hospital for sinners (not “genuine” Christians, as you call them), as well as for such sinners, (like Mary Magdalene and Augustine), turned into saints. Remember the thief on the right was a brigand and murderer (not a “genuine” Christian) but he was the first confirmed saint, confirmed by Christ Himself. But if there is no One Church, there is no One Teaching, and there is no One Truth. This is why we have the Catholic Church, and why the rest are all heresies and again, I recommend, Hillaire Belloc’s “Heresies,” that hopefully will open the minds of low-information religious adherents. No wonder one the world’s leading Biblical scholar and intellectual, of what came to be known as the Oxford Movement, Henry Newman, converted to Catholicism, and is now a saint of the Catholic Church. You have probably heard of the “Newman Club” at major colleges and universities.

The sad thing is that a lot of Christians who are into the “scripture only” group forget that there are Christians in the Middle East who are SUFFERING for the Lord Jesus.

This is the sad aspect of being non-Catholic. Everyone and their grandmother down to your local corner street FourSquare Church pastor and Rev. Wright and Rev. Sharpton each supply us with their “own” understanding of sacred scripture rather than follow the teachings of the Church established by Christ with Peter being given the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and the Great Commission given to Peter and his disciples to go forth and teach...... That means ONE teaching and ONE truth for two millennia in an unbroken tradition of scriptural interpretation, tradition, revelation, worship and veneration, and counting until the end of times where the gates of hell shall not prevail against her. No need for born again.

You mean that ONE teaching where those Christian murdering savages in the Middle East are your brothers in God while born again Protestant Christians are anathema to your religion???

You guys can claim it as often as you want but it's pretty clear to this Bible Believer that the gates of Hell does prevail against your religion, case in point, your love-fest with barbaric muzlims...

You need help as it seems you’ve clearly gone off the deep end. The Muslim religion is a gutter religion, Protestants and Catholics think alike on this one. You know what Pope Benedict XVI (described as the theological Einstein of our times) said in his Address at the University of Regensburg.

http://www.zenit.org/en/articles/papal-address-at-university-of-regensburg

That does not mean that the ill-effects and curse of the heresies spawned by the Reformation have not done damage to millions of souls led astray from the one True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, in a teaching based on Holy Scripture, Tradition, and Divine Revelation and nourished over two millennia by the blood of its martyrs and sanctity of its saints from St. Therese to Blessed Mother Theresa.

No, I did not "make your point", you just totally missed mine. The Roman Catholic Church cannot be the ONE, TRUE Church of Jesus Christ for the simple reason that not everyone who identifies as a Roman Catholic IS a Christian in the true sense of the word. The genuine BRIDE OF CHRIST is and will be ALL the saved from all time, places, ages and people. It will be THE called-out assembly of born again believers in Jesus Christ and will be clothed in the robes of HIS righteousness washed as white as snow in His precious blood. Now, certainly you MUST know that not even every Pope is saved much less every baptized Roman Catholic. And, just as I said, not everyone who identifies under any other Christian label necessarily IS a Christian since to be a Christian means one has been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. Catholicism says that this is a life-long process that nobody can know whether or not they "made it" until they die and its determined they were worthy by their deeds. Faith in Christ is placed very low on the scale of the "good works" side. True, Biblical Christianity tells us we can KNOW we HAVE everlasting life right now, because we are saved by the grace of God and not by our works. No one will be boasting before Him, remember?

You mention Henry Newman as a "saint" and leading Biblical scholar and "intellectual". What you may not be aware of is his explanations for why the Catholic Church HAS changed her doctrines over the years and why there has NOT been ONE Teaching or ONE Truth within this church. He came up with the term of "doctrinal development" to explain why both antiquity and unanimous consent of the fathers was NOT sufficient to explain the very REAL fact that many teachings of the Catholic Church could not be validated using that "formula". It's ironical that certain doctrines that Catholicism today labels as "heresies" were at one time part of the universal Christian faith. Should anyone decide to break out from under the veil of delusion subtly pulled over their heads and really open their eyes, here is a good article that helps to explain how and why Newman's doctrine came about. It's Rome's New and Novel Concept of Tradition. This is not the only place one can find these facts, but it's a start.

So says the church of fatima .. that is funny.. so says the church that shows itself as violaters of 1 John 4:2.. especially with Mary being taught as sinless....the power of the main antichrist resides in Rome.... I would pay attention to any agreements Israel and Vatican sign......

Sorry. This can only be described as moronic. Mary is the purest and most perfect of all creation on heaven and earth, chosen by the Father to incarnate the second person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Son, and the patroness of the One True, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic faith. By definition the rest is all, yes the rest! I was going to say manure.

As you celebrate the unbiblical assumption of Mary today.. you celebrate her immaculate conception(hers not Jesus’) and then her also unbiblical assumption... you believe Jesus wasn’t born of a sinner... so you disregard verse upon verse of Jesus born ‘in the flesh’- which means carnal.. .the antichrist spirits can say he came in flesh- but the ‘in the flesh’ is a subtle difference..the same flesh you and I come in... He came all the way down and was born in the flesh- and as the bible describes extensively

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren,let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David,that he is both dead and buried,and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Acts 2:30 Therefore being a prophet,and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him,that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh,he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

Rom 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness,by the resurrection from the dead:

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus,who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death,crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. ... Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is,the devil; Heb 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Heb 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren,that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God,to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted,he is able to succour them that are tempted. Heb 3:1 Wherefore,holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,Christ Jesus;

Only one way foe him to inherirt the sin nature from Adam and Eve... and that was through Mary, a sinner.. as the bible also says all have sinned and fallen short....

I beg you steel.. you may ignore this Mary nonsense but the bible describes the antichrist spirits and its center is about Jesus fully man..He was flesh and blood as you and I. Christ must be one with the Father in divinity, and one with man in humanity, and thus connect again earth with heaven.. we lost that connection that adam and eve had when they sinned and the sin nature is in all flesh.. even Mary... But Jesus didn’t have two sinners as parents like you and I.. But in the flesh is what differentiates of God and not of God according to 1 John 4:2 or 2 John 7 or Hebrews 2:14-18... subtle but a rather monumental difference... He knew no sin because of the Holy Spirit, not Mary’s flesh..
Hope this helps in your journey closer to Him and further away from spirits who deny He came in the flesh...

This again is all “your” interpretation of scripture only. There were no tape-recorders around when Christ spoke. This was all part of the oral tradition written some 30-40 years after the death of Christ. The were a number of “gospels” out there and it were the early Catholic Church fathers who sorted things out. The Bible did not fall out of the sky. It was the continuity of Catholic thought, ritual, practice, and belief sustained by early Church theologians, saints, and martyrs that have nourished its continuity.

Mary is the purest and most perfect of all God’s creation on heaven and earth. While the remains of all the apostles were located (all but John martyrs), Mary’s was not. We have saints whose bodies remain incorrupt as a heavenly sign of their earthly holiness. Mary’s body was not to be fed on by worms and maggots in a state of decay. Her son who raised Lazarus and confirmed to the murderous thief on his right that “this day thou shall be with Me in paradise,” would not allow His beloved Mother in whose womb He gestated for none months would not allow her to be buried in a state of decay. Thus Catholic belief is based on history and tradition is that she was assumed body and soul into Heaven. This is taught by the successor to St. Peter to whom was given the Great Commission, to go forth and teach ONE truth. The miracle of Mary is the miracle of the Incarnation.

Stop quoting and interpreting Scriptural verses to us Catholics. This is what low-information Protestant Christians like Joel Osteen, Billy Graham, Rev. Wright, David Koresh, and all the rest of pastors in these “black” churches keep sophomorically preaching. They try doing from age to age as unfortunate spawns of the curse of the Reformation. Giving the Catholic Church “your” interpretation of Scripture is like telling Einstein how to solve a problem in geometry after he first laid out the theorem. The early Church laid out the books were call the Bible and the successors to Peter have instructed us on its meaning beginning with the central truth of the living presence of the Christ in the Holy Eucharist. Even the leading Lutheran theologian in this continent, Richard Newhaus converted to Catholicism.

Take a careful read:
http://www.firstthings.com/onthesquare/2009/01/how-i-became-the-catholic-i-wa

The greatest and most renowned theologians from Aquinas, Augustine, Benedict XVI to Cardinal Henry Newman are just a few of the vast constellation of Biblical scholars of the Church. Thus pedantic references to scripture is the stuff of your corner street FourSquare Church pastor. Those of us trained in scripture, history, tradition, revelation, and sacred liturgy don’t need this.

Islam has a fundamental problem with Divine Justice.

Until they can accept the perfect sacrifice provided by Jesus Christ on the Cross, and face God directly in that faith, and recognize Christ died for their sins, then they still lack forgiveness from God and remain condemned already for all eternity future.

Francis = Frank    (wasn't that difficult)

As pathetic as I may find it, the guy is perfectly free to march blithely into dhimmitude with as many of his acolytes as choose to (irrationally) follow his lead.

But the 'stfu' part was in response to his arrogantly presuming to preach his naivete to everyone else.

And that thinking is in no need of change, thanks just the same.

Steel, you are as lost as your pagan cult... I would almost think you are lampooning catholics in stereotype.... it would be almost too much of a typecast... Good luck with your queen of heaven and pagan sun god worship.Fatima has got a devoted fan in you... exodus 20 would be a good start for you to brush up on if you want more ‘trusted’ scripture.. heck any of the Torah would do a blind soul some good....

Your Scripture didn’t fall from the skies my dear friend. They were written 30-40 years after the death of Christ and it were the early Church Fathers that fought the various schisms and decided on what books constitute the Bible. Much of what was not written were handed down by the oral traditions of the times through Peter, his disciples, and his successors.

Your stupid insistence that scripture alone is all that is needed is why we have the likes of reverends like David Koresh and Jim Jones and a million other scam artists, each thinking they alone have the entire Scriptural wisdom unto themselves. The Billy Grahams, Joel Ostreen, Robert Schullers, Rev. Wright and all the black church “pastors” are simply wealthy “family” enterprises supporting their very comfortable lifestyles.

Apparently, the saints and the blood of martyrs mean nothing to idiots like you who go around thinking, just like your local corner street FourSquare Church pastor, that you can scream this “born again” talk and be redeemed. No you can’t.

There is only ONE truth, the rest is all just disposable stuff...like the stuff Rev.. Sharpton preaches, all spawns of the curse of the reformation. All catering to low-information Christians who are unable to grasp the beauty in truth and majesty of the Church, the central meaning of the Holy Eucharist, and the Queen of the Angeles. Little wonder, that people like you are so completely lost.

Go read up on the great Anglican and Lutheran converts to the Catholic faith from Cardinal Henry Newman to America’s own Richard Neuhaus.

You are under a warped understanding that I ascribe any credence to any of those you mentioned.... sun god worship is what it is... this worlds calendar has everybody duped... you are not alone and your church helped spread it- even to those protestants who were trying to build on a foundation of sinking sand.... you are however delusional to think your Sunday type worship is better than joel osteen or rev wright or any of those others you mentioned.. its all vain and worthless when His Sacred calendar and His Sabbath is revealed.... I would suggest exactly what Rev 18 say- come.out of her my people... you thinking your church is pure only need to see the abuse of little boys as proof one of demonic practices... and these other churches , especially mega church clubs have other iniquity that dogs them too but no better than abusing little kids... better to see it and flee than sit and celebrate it.... or defend it like you seem so incline to do...

Good luck fleeing babylon..
