Slander is, by definition, not truth.

Truth is, by definition, not slander.

Though it could still involve rash judgment or detraction, which are also sins. For example: say you publish a lot of scandalous stuff about somebody that's just hearsay, without grounds, without evidence, but it turns out to be true. Even though it was true, it was still rash judgment on our part, because you published all this damaging stuff without (at the time) actual proof.

Sinners are sinners. You’re one too.

True...And there are Christian sinners and non Christian sinners...

The 'tares' in the bible are non Christian sinners which your religion claims are members of your Catholic religion...

And they are...We all know that...And that's why your religion is NOT the Bride of Christ...

“And there are Christian sinners and non Christian sinners...”

If they’re baptized, then they’re Christian.

And the Catholic Church IS the bride of Christ while your invented, man-made sect will come and go.

“If they’re baptized, then they’re Christian.”

If they haven’t entrusted themselves to Christ’s payment for sin, they are just wet sinners.

It would not be wiped and you would not be censored for asking “Have Protestants never read the Bible?”

I seriously doubt that you can back up the idea that Catholics would have no problem with a priest who molested children then saying Mass.

When Catholics blow off the issue of a priest who has molested children with *We're all sinners*, and *Sin in his life doesn't affect his duties as a priest as long as the priests intent is right*. it's easy enough to get that idea.

When Catholics aren't demanding justice for those priests but instead accuse those molested of looking to win life's lottery by filing false accusations, then yes, it's easy to get that idea.

When Catholics don't take the issue seriously enough to demand action from their leadership but rather accuse any non-Catholic who points out such blatant hypocrisy with charges of lying, then it's easy to get the idea that priests who molest boys aren't a problem for most Catholics.

mm:“Have Catholics never read the Bible?”

Vlad:Yes, they have - and they understand it too.

Re: 1 Corinthians 5 which was posted above.

If Catholics read and understand the Bible, then why isn't it being followed? Why is the Catholic church not following the teaching of the Scripture they claim they wrote themselves?

Except that has never happened. Ever. You’re just making it up out of thin air.

“When Catholics aren’t demanding justice for those priests but instead accuse those molested of looking to win life’s lottery by filing false accusations, then yes, it’s easy to get that idea.”

And that isn’t happening either - except in those cases where someone believes there have been false accusations made (and there have been a some).

“When Catholics don’t take the issue seriously enough to demand action from their leadership but rather accuse any non-Catholic who points out such blatant hypocrisy with charges of lying, then it’s easy to get the idea that priests who molest boys aren’t a problem for most Catholics.”

Except that you are making things up out of thin air. No matter what you think, there has - for instance - NEVER been a time that I have ever, nor any Catholic I have ever heard of, who has blown off “the issue of a priest who has molested children with *We’re all sinners*, and *Sin in his life doesn’t affect his duties as a priest as long as the priests intent is right*.”

I realize that Protestant anti-Catholics struggle with telling the truth. Lying comes easy to them I suppose because they believe they are actually doing good by lying against the Catholic Church or Catholics about what we teach, what we believe and what we have done. The lies of anti-Catholics are still lies no matter how convenient or self-serving they might be.

It is by some and not by others.

“Why is the Catholic church not following the teaching of the Scripture they claim they wrote themselves?”

The Church is - just not to your liking. Get used to it.

Excellent reply! BTTT!

Some people want the Cafeteria Catholic translations and meanings read into their Bibles. It’s not there.

The Bible is the truth inspired by the Holy Spirit. Some people choose not to believe it, though. They want their own personal interpretation of Scripture rather than the trtuh.

And the Catholic Church IS the bride of Christ while your invented, man-made sect will come and go.

As I pointed out, the bible says a great big NO...And again, it is impossible that your religion is the Bride of Christ...Unless of course God is lying...

How do you get baptized tares into the Bride of Christ???

It’s interesting that your experience is not the same as mine. Those gay men I know (my cousin being one of them) were not sexually abused by older men (as far as I know of course). Perhaps that is why I have a different take on this. I would love to see (reliable, non-biased) statistics if there are any out there.

Also, it seems as if you’re saying that most gay men become gay because they are molested, seduced or raped. Do you believe then that it is a choice vs being born as such? I thought the Church taught that they were born with the inclination.

They are when they join your Church but you church claims there are tares along with the wheat in your Church...

A baptized tare can not be in the Body of Christ...Therefore, your religion is not the Bride of Christ...

If someone is baptized, then they are in the Church. They are in the Church Militant. They are not yet part of the Church Triumphant. That’s where there are no tares.

So they're part of the church but not part of the church.
