Prayers for my dear one.

My wife of nearly 30 years and I received news yesterday that she is suffering from a melanoma. She will have more tests done at a yet to be determined time to see how far it has spread. She will need an invasive surgery to remove the one obvious tumor.

She and I have been Bible believing Christians our whole life together (We met and fell in love in Bible school) and we are clinging to prayer and God's Word.

This is a request to our Christian friends here on Free Republic to pray for her during this time.

She is a long time Freeper, a solid conservative and has been an active participant here on this forum since the Clinton years.

All prayers and advice from people who have dealt with similar issues are most welcome.

prayers do your wife; I was diagnosed with Melanoma in Aug 2006. Had the surgery and it was caught early so it had not spread. I got a call from my Dr. yesterday on a biopsy he did last week and it is melanoma again. I will go through the same process again. The first one really rattled me, but now that I know the process it will be fine. Hopefully, they have caught it early. Best advise I can give you and your wife is regular check ups. I go every 3 months. Last year the Dr. said we could move it to every 6 months, but I insisted we stay on the 3 month program, after yesterdays news I am glad I did. Keep us posted on how things go and tell your wife (and you too) to stay off the Internet researching melanoma! It will make it worse!

I know how a cancer diagnosis can rock your world. (Been there with a different type.) That was 20009, and guess what? I am still here! :) Let your wife know that cancer can be treated so effectively these days. I’ll pray that it is an itty-bitty cancer and that it hasn’t gone anywhere.
