In the new survey, 59 percent of American adults answered that gay or lesbian relations are morally acceptable, a 19 percentage point increase since 2001 when only 40 percent said it was morally acceptable.
Sixty percent of respondents said that having a baby outside of marriage was morally acceptable, a 15 percentage point increase since 2002 when only 45 percent said it was morally acceptable.
Of the 20 issues which Gallup asked about their moral acceptability, same-sex sexual relations and unwed pregnancies saw the greatest increases. They were also the only issues which changed from a minority to a majority of the country finding them morally acceptable over the past decade.
The other large increases in moral acceptability were: sex between an unmarried man and woman went from 53 to 63 percent, divorce went from 59 to 63 percent, and medical research using stem cells from human embryos went from 52 to 60 percent.
The only large decline in moral acceptability was for medical testing on animals, which went from 65 to 56 percent.
It all will become “each to it’s own”....and no accountablility otherwise except to the “rule of Government”...and those who rule will be exempt....
Which they already are....
I don’t believe it.
If a majority believes that gravity does not exist, jumps off eighty foot cliffs will still kill you. The rocks at the bottom won’t care what you say you believe.
The majority of the 35 and under public school educated crowd maybe.
Exactly, that’s one of the reasons such polls are useless.
Questions could also be something along the lines of:
Do you respect gays right to get married like everyone else?
Are you a homophobe?
Etc.
(Somehow, I read that as “Catnip Poll” My bad!)
Who conducts these “surveys?” No one has ever surveyed me, and I canNOT believe that so many people are so lacking in morals and ethics that they think aberrant behavior is the norm.
I don’t believe it.
If God was fair, he'd send one to Hollywood, DC or New York, not Oklahoma. I think the vast majority of people in flyover country are still reasonably decent.
The same way the majority of Americans thought slavery was okay in 1829 and Jim Crow was hunky-dory in 1950.
You don’t get to vote on right and wrong. Only legal and illegal.

I wasn’t asked.
I’ll bet NOBODY on FR was asked.
We all know the game. It validates leftist goals to removal all traditional moral restrictions on sex-related behavior by making it seem as if the majority approve of having babies out of wedlock, 'coming out' as 'gay', so get used to it because any morality-based opposition to these behaviors will be termed as 'judgmental' and 'shoving your religion down my throat'. The clear inference is that those with traditional definitions of moral behavior should just shut up, sit down and accept what the supposed majority want.
However, I chose not to comply.
In the end, it doesn’t matter what people think about these issues - only matters what God says.
Looks like the Almighty didn’t get the memo from the new leftist morality definers.

We are slouching rapidly toward Gomorrah.
Then later you said "They should have asked if sex outside of marriage is morally acceptable."
I'm guessing you think the answer is yes; having sex outside of marriage is morally acceptable.
Sex results in having babies. So if its morally OK to have them outside of marriage, then it must be OK to have the sex outside of marriage in order to have them babies.
"But I don’t consider (out of wedlock) childbirth to be morally unacceptable."
I do. Its morally and socially unacceptable.
Yes, well a majority of the Athenian voting populace elected to annihilate the population of Melos in 416 B.C., resulting in the liquidation of all Melian adult males, the sale of all women and children into slavery, and the confiscation of all Melian property. Athens was a democracy, an unchecked democracy.
A majority of German citizens during WWII felt that the extermination of Jews, Gypsies, select physically and mentally defective persons, etc. was morally acceptable. Theirs had been a more or less democratically governed nation, and one of the most advanced in Europe. And look what happened because the people allowed it to happen by either their active support or their passive acquiescence.
This “tyranny of the majority” is exactly what the founding fathers of our nation sought counteract. That is why governmental power is divided in this nation and the Constitution of the United States is indeed an enumeration of “negative rights,” as former State Senator Barack Obama correctly observed - perhaps the last time he correctly observed much of anything. It is no wonder that in his pursuit of installing “positive rights,” he is at the same time systematically eroding the “negative rights (the things the government may not do!)” given us by the founders.
It is hard to believe that so many Americans can be so naive when it comes to the two things our founders knew to be unassailably true: the fallen nature of humanity and the corrupting nature of power. Put those two together, and they well knew, you have a recipe for catastrophe.
We’ll have a gay ole time I guess...
We need strong Christian leadership. All of these things that are now seen as acceptable do great harm to people.
