What is wrong with this person? (the writer of the article) Is she the Pope’s pope?

I guess she thinks that the Mass should be about worshiping God.

From 2011, Pope Francis, then Cardinal Bergoglio, celebrating a "youth Mass" complete with puppets. This is just about as bad as it gets, folks.

Cool Mass, if you're into that sort of thing.

I imagine Pope Francis and Cardinal Hummes have decent relations, but the article’s assertion they are bosom buddies is silly. Hummes was regarded as the leading liberal candidate, and Bergoglio (in 2005) the leading conservative. Hummes is affiliated with Liberation Theology; Francis with Liberation And Communion. Hummes’ presence on the balcony was on the balcony as president emeritus for the congregation of clergy. Guilt by association won’t wash.

Your tag line seems kind of out of place since you keep posting this bullies opinions. Stand against the bullies, not with them. Dangerous ground I tell you, dangerous ground.

I don’t have time to watch the whole video. Are there puppets any closer to the altar than decorations in the crowd, or is the author simply trying to let people jump to false presumptions?

So when a nobody with no power criticizes a somebody with immense power, the nobody is a bully?

You live in quite the bizzarro world.

To my knowledge, the Pope has a bum knee, with pins in it. His bow in place of a genuflection is perfectly licit.

Obviously she has the power of her blog and probably has a large following. She is causing scandal on herself and on the Church. When someone thinks they know better then God, that is a sin against the Holy Spirit. Disobedience to the Church and Church teaching is not being Catholic, she is showing herself no better then Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden. Cafeteria Catholic’s are all the same, maybe they don’t pick the same things to go against the Church about, but the result is the same, disobedience and scandal.

Advance the video to 7:50 for the puppets and/or to 8:08 for what is said to be the “Smiling Christ On The Cross.”

I watched the video. It is a children’s mass - it is a huge outdoor stadium. I think the writer is out in left field here. No disrespect to the Eucharist in this video.

There's two different videos. It's 7:50 and 8:08 at this link. Sorry for any confusion.

This is from a previous posts of Ann's regarding the new pope's failure to genuflect:

UPDATE:

Thanks to the reader who suggested this. This is Pope Benedict's last public Mass on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Note that Pope Benedict, frail to the point of citing his frailty as a reason for his abdication, fully genuflects to the knee, as every priest MUST do as a non-negotiable rubric of celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

And for anyone arguing that it is simply too difficult for anyone over the age of twenty-four to genuflect, may I remind you that the rubrics call for both hands to be flat on the altar, which lends a great deal of physical support to the priest, and for there to be servers on each side who can assist with the genuflections by holding the elbows of the priest. That is one of the reasons the servers are there - to physically assist the priest if needed.

The genuflection after the consecration of the Host is at 1:19:33. The genuflection after the consecration of the Chalice is at 1:20:21.

Ann is a hysteric. And ignorant. And arrogant.

Genuflection is not a “non-negotiable.” (The only meaning that could carry is that genuflecting is necessary for validity.) That is preposterous. A priest may, if necessary, celebrate Mass seated. There is no physical act during the Mass that is “non-negotiable” other than the Epicletic Gesture.

Well, I'm not a Catholic scholar, so I'm not qualified to have an opinion regarding the technical importance of genuflecting one way or another. I do, however, think that the Pope is the Catholic of Catholics, and is therefore our earthly role model. So, while your average parishioner may take shortcuts here and there for convenience or out of apathy, the Pope should do everything in his power to show the most reverence possible, which, to my mind, means that if there is a way he can genuflect, he should, whether the Mass is invalid without it or not, just to demonstrate the highest standard of reverence to the rest of the flock.

However, as I admit ignorance of the technical aspects of this stuff, you might be better off having this discussion with Ann, herself. She appears to be quite receptive to communications from readers:

Do we have a link to this video?
Some of the “low-intellect” non-Catholic comments made here display a moronic bent.
