Dear Friends,
At this juncture, I must ask for your prayers on my behalf. Last Friday afternoon, while driving home from work I blacked out on I-95 and rear-ended the vehicle in front of me.
I was taken by ambulance to Laurel Regional Hospital and was admitted. During my three-day stay I had a head CT, a cervical MRI, an EEG, and a chest CT.
They finally released me at about three oclock this afternoon.
In light of the circumstances of this accident, I am coming to the conclusion that I should not drive anymore. No one was injured in this accident I couldnt live with myself if I caused serious injury or death to another person.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
God bless you, sir, and Merry Christmas. My father’s blackouts stopped when he got his pacemaker, but then his Alzheimer’s progressed so that he couldn’t drive, even his golf cart.
I hope you have cheerful and diligent drivers to help you!
Yikes. Prayers for you.
Praying for you Conor you are very lucky to be able to post today. Hoping you are not in too much pain.
I’m so very sorry to read of this yet glad to hear that no one was injured. Prayers for you that the doctors find out what may have cause the blackout. Get well and stay well.
Prayers up for you!
Quick story just to add to your knowledge...
My Mom suffered blackouts for a while, sometimes sensing them coming on and pulling off to the side of the road. Thanks goodness, no accidents.
They ran blood tests, CAT scans, neurological tests, etc, and found no cause.
Finally, a doctor did a chest scan and they discovered a faulty aortic valve that sometimes failed to deliver enough blood to her brain. She was passing out from oxygen starvation.
She underwent a heart procedure and lived another 20 years without another blackout.
Info for you, FRiend... good luck!
Perhaps, once the medical experts find out what caused you to black out, they can give you a way to control/eliminate the problem.
Prayers that you will once again be able to drive safely and that your affliction is but minor.
Thanks for posting. Lots of good advice on the thread.
A prayer, a Merry Christmas and a Healthy & Happy New Year, ConorMacNessa...and all FReepers.
I’m relieved to hear you’re all right. You’re in my prayers. Merry Christmas!
MY post should read you will have to go one year without seizure activity if a form of epilepsi is the problem, and not 1 year with seizure activity..
I’m praying for you, dear brother in Christ. God will guide you in the decisions you need to make and I thank Him that you were not injured and no one else was hurt. I pray that the doctors are able to diagnose what happened and that God heals you, if it is in His plan. Above all, I pray that you find peace and rest in the Lord as you gather together with your loving family, who also rejoice that you are safe, and that you have a very merry Christmas.

Prayers up, ConorMacNessa!
Any news on the *cause* of the blackout?
...oh, and I hope it doesn't seem *too* out of place, but Merry Christmas!
Prayers up for you and yours.
Something similar occurred to a friend. The physicians could only diagnose the spasm of a small blood vessel in her brain by injecting a medication. They informed her that the situation was statistically unlikely to recur. She hasn’t had an episode since.
Prayers for your situation, and for You and Yours.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Lord Jesus our Lord and Savior,
Be near Thy servant known to us as Conor at the hour of this important transition in his life.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Prayers for God’s blessings. May the wind be at your back as you go through this.
Prayers for you.
