Now, do you think our Lord Jesus wants us to celebrate Christmas ?

Yes I do.

Now let me see if i get this right, you seem to be accusing those who choose to decorate Christmas trees in their homes of worshipping the tree as god, like the pagans did in the OT?
LOL! What happens to those very trees in about a week? they are thrown out with the trash, often to be burned. is that any way to treat “god”?
sometimes i think i have read it all, and then i see what some people post.

Emotional appeals aside, what of my previous query to you? There was a claim made concerning "Christians only a generation removed from the Apostles". How long a generation? 50 years? 100?

Can the claim be substantiated, or would you care to re-phrase? I'm easy...you can even have a Christmas tree in your house and I won't call you a pagan. <8^)

The discussion here being more one of historical perspectives...nothing one need take overly "personal".

Rabbits and eggs are both common fertility symbols in pagan cultures, and the vernal equinox is generally a fertility holiday. Add in the supposed aphrodisiac power of chocolate and the whole Easter celebration starts looking a lot less religious and a lot more smutty.

Real Jews, Karaite, and Torah observant, no takanots.

Your pockets need protection? is that another takanot?

I’m afraid that your 6th month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy is a real stretch but I guess it is not impossible only very implausible.

I am not convinced of my error however and still say that the 6th month of the year as reckoned by the King James scholars is what was being referred to in this scripture.

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

What is it that makes you think that the very same thing didn’t happen to Christianity?

Because Jesus said the gates of hell would not prevail against the Church and that He would be with us always, even to the end of the age.
Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to lead the Church to all truth and make it so it is impossible to fool the elect.
I know it is probably embarassing for someone such as yourself to look at history and not be able to find anyone who agrees with these sabbath keeping doctrine and still celebrating the OT feasts for about 1,800 years.
There is a good reason the Church never kept the Sabbath and stopped celebrating these feasts, to do so would be to deny Jesus Christ.
The Sabbath pointed to Jesus and the rest we would have in Him, to keep it would deny this fact.
The Passover pointed to Jesus and His death for our sins, to still celebrate it would be to deny Jesus DIED already. He gave us His Body, the Eucharist to celebrate.
First Fruits points to Jesus and His resurrection as our First Fruits.
why still celebrate types and shadows that pointed to Jesus Christ, when He has come and fulfilled them?
Satan does not own 12/25, the Church has chosen that day to celebrate the greatest gift of all time, namely the gift from the Father of His own Son, that who so ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
the Church has chosen 12/25, but could change it tomorrow to 3/3, 9/1, 11/21 or any other day it wishes.
so who cares whether you choose to celebrate Christ’s Mass on 12/25, The Church, here for 1,979 years, will and will continue to do so until Jesus comes again. deal with it.

why believe Herbert Armstrong and his son?

Christmas is not “the untold story”, read the Catholic Scriptures Luke 2 and you will see the story is not untold at all.

in fact, it has been told for 1,979 years, but i guess those caught up in “armstrongism” don’t realize that.

that is all very interesting ( i guess ), but i asked you what Church has any doctrinal belief concerning this?

i guess the answer is NONE.

the “whole Easter celebration” as you call it is all about Jesus Christ dying for our sins and rising from the dead on the third day and ascending to His Father.

sure does make the devil mad, doesn’t it?

READ it in context.

Luk 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself FIVE MONTHS, saying,

Luk 1:25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach among men.
Luk 1:26 And in the SIXTH MONTH the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

*****

Luk 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and THIS IS THE SIXTH MONTH with her, who was called barren.

Oh for heavens sake, that is by Garner Ted Armstrong. That is enough to consign it to the round file. A man disfellowshiped by his own church.

You’re just confused about who the church is.

It’s not the Roman catholic abomination. You turn the Lord’s Supper into a pagan cannibal fest with the abomination that you call the eucharist, rather than the sweet remembrance that Yeshua declared. The true church never stopped observing the sabbath and the Lord’s appointed days; they are essential to being one of the “Wise Virgins” that partake of Yeshua’s wedding feast.

Yes, Satan does indeed ‘own’ December 25; it is the birth date of his Earthly princes; The true church has never wanted any part of it. Yeshua was born at the Feast of Tabernacles, that is the very meaning of that feast.

If you choose to celebrate ANY mass, you are a pagan by your actions.

Problem is your question is invalid to the discussion. I was pointing out that the TRAPPINGS of the holidays come from pagan roots. Your asking about church’s doctrinal beliefs is besides the point. You might as well ask you to make a martini, it’s that tied to the discussion.

LOL, why celebrate types and shadows when they all pointed to Jesus Christ?
the Church has never celebrated any of these days, Paul didn’t, Peter didn’t and 1,979 years of Church History shows we never did.
we celebrate Jesus Christ and we rest in Him, the types and shadows have been done away with.

I believe the Bible, chapter and verse, and you haven't given me ANY chapter and verse that supports your pagan worship!
It's not Herbert Armstrong and his son that you have to refute.
It's those references they use, and those historical references, that you have a problem with.
And those references are time-tested, and as solid as the Rock who put them in the Bible.
