Since it’s an open thread the only thing I’d like to say about worry is that worrying is paying interest on a loan you haven’t made. Nothing happens until it happens. Worrying will eat you up from the inside and stalemate you. Just saying.

So true. I try to give my worries to God and go from there. I didn’t know how I was going to get back to Nebraska and see my dad who is 99. Then a gift appeared out of nowhere.

I know a friend who gets by on about 500 dollars a month. She gets medical help and food stamps, but nothing else. She just prays — and something will happen.

I’m not a Catholic, but I’m a saint.

I’m not a Catholic either, should I pray to you?

Not yet.

To become a saint, you must first die.

Then there are three steps with miracles involved. Venerable, Blessed and Saint.

Catholic beliefs differ quite a bit from non-Catholic beliefs here.

Hey, do you ever ask anyone to pray for you? To get well? For your children? To find a job?

I think Saint Dymphna, first on the list, is known as patroness for various psychological afflictions beyond anxiety. Anyway, works for me. EDIT: I see on re-reading than it says for “nervous disorders” in general — that is correct. She is a very kind saint and understands the little trials many of us experience. Highly recommended.

Never mind the first part of my comment; the list is just with respect to worry/anxiety. All of the saints on the list are known for other things.

I know Jesus, he is all I need.

I don’t need any of the 10,000 or so human-designated “Saints”

Why do you day human-designated saints. Miracles had to occur before these people were pronounced “saint”. And miracles are not man’s doing, but God’s.

That is the most wrong explanation of what it takes to be a saint that I have ever read. You are right if you are describing what it takes to be declared a saint by the church. But the church recognizes that anyone who dies without the stain of mortal sin on their soul becomes a saint.

Following the Truth:

I follow THE TRUTH every day - There is only ONE TRUTH and that is JESUS/The Word and He says, 'Fear Not' - so what are these 'saints' worrying about? OBVIOUSLY, they didn't FOLLOW TRUTH!
