The Roman Catholic Church has moved sexually abusive priests across international borders and kept them in ministry, criminal authorities in Australia have concluded.
Their finding mirrors that of our landmark 2004-2005 investigative series, Runaway Priests: Hiding in Plain Sight. We identified over 200 cases in which accused clerics escaped justice by going abroad.
Police in the Australian state of Victoria, in a report to parliament there, cite a case I first brought to light: The Salesians of Don Bosco religious order moved a priest to Samoa in 1998, when he had one child molestation conviction on his record and was facing a new criminal investigation. The little South Pacific island nation had no extradition treaty with Australia and when an arrest warrant was issued, the Salesians did not send him back.

Where to? Boys Town USA?
Shuffling dick chairs on the Titanic?
LOL.
Wouldn’t shielding / hiding paedophile Catholic priests be a form of obstructing justice, and thus amount to criminal participation by the parties involved?
And somebody please tell me what happened to the panel of psychiatrists who insisted that child molestation could be cured, and told the Church to send them for help and then pronounced them cured.
Strange that we never hear about that.
If Catholic, don’t let your kids go on any “retreats” or other activities away from your line of sight. There is absolutely no reason to trust your kids mental or physical condition with those who lead the church and every reason to be extremely cautious.
The inner circle contains a club of perversion, not everyone is part of it, but many, many are. The priesthood is riddled with it and isn’t likely to change anytime soon - too much “forgiveness” for real change to occur. So, enjoy your fellow Catholics, but be ever watchful of the Catholic clergy.
Great post, kitkat!! And you are 100% right-we never hear about this!!!
What a deceptive article! First, it’s about TWO priests. TWO! Second, the article points out what ONE order did - the Salesians. Exactly how the Filippino priest got moved isn’t even clear from the article. The article, therefore, isn’t saying anything about the Church.
Funny thing is, when this happens at Penn State or some other major university the student rally in favor of the molester.
Or to a public school or University near you.
We have one pedophile priest working at the TSA....feeling up your crotch as you dare to travel.
Correction: We have one alleged ephebophile former priest working at the TSA....feeling up your crotch as you dare to travel.
Incidentally, he isn't alone as we all know that the TSA has hired a lot of criminals who aren't dismissed Priests.
Facts are the enemy of truth.
That's the problem...They never get dismissed...They keep getting transferred to other parishes and air terminals...
