Fidel Castro will be received back into the communion of the Roman Catholic Church during Pope Benedict XVIs visit to the island in March, the Italian press is reporting. If true, this is a remarkable story and one that has yet to catch the attention of editors this side of the Atlantic.
On 1 Feb 2012, La Republicca [Italys second largest circulation daily newspaper, La Republicca follows a center-left political line and is strongly anti-clerical; not anti-Catholic per se but a critic of the institutional church] reported that as death approaches, the octogenarian communist has turned to God for solace.
ABCs Global Note news blog is the only U.S. general interest publication I have found that has reported this story. It referenced the La Republicca story and said that Castros
daughter Alina is quoted as saying During this last period, Fidel has come closer to religion: he has rediscovered Jesus at the end of his life. It doesnt surprise me because dad was raised by Jesuits. The article quotes an unidentified high prelate in the Vatican who is working on the Popes Cuba trip: Fidel is at the end of his strength. Nearly at the end of his life. His exhortations in the party paper Granma, are increasingly less frequent. We know that in this last period he has come closer to religion and God.
Some Italian websites have even speculated as to when Fidel will make his confession and credo setting the date as 27 March 2012 at 17:30 when the two ottantacinquenni, Pope Benedict XVI and Castro, will meet at the Palacio de la Revolución when the pope makes his official visit to the head of state, Raul Castro.
During Pope John Paul IIs 1998 visit to Cuba, Castro attended mass, but did...........

It is interesting that he had no problem with allowing Jews into the Church who had repented, accepting Christ and His shed blood as their only plea.
Neither, it was a banana. Because it had appeal. ;o)
I personally think you are a pretender posing as a follower of Christ by your excess use of out of context scripture and your habit of putting the blame on others
I actually know you're a heretic.and have no need to think of you as a pretender
you don't pay for it and you can't earn it .
By using Our free will to follow the will of God is Synergistically following God's will and in union with Him, so you're correct that we can't earn this, but it's available to all who love the will of God .God does not force His will on us or God is a monster
Answer the question with a simple yes or no whether you believe Jesus is God and describe the Trinity to the best of your ability. A non answer of yes or no will show you deny Jesus is God and you don't believe in the Trinity
The issue is ...that translations of the KJV are different than translations of the NIV and are different than translations of the Septuagint... and so on and so on.
The Bible has been copied so many times with so many changes that using strongs becomes one more confusing tool for the solo Scripture crowd.
As Catholic ,I don’t have that problem of confusion because I can see clear teachings on things like the Trinity and many other things through constant, consistent teaching of the Church Fathers and dogmatic councils.
Of course, you always disagree with this but your argument can not be backed up with historical Christian teachings, nor even with clear sources scripture, since the Scriptures are not autographed by the Apostles and we only believe their authenticity because the Catholic church tells us they are authentic.
Lol you’re projecting again .
You accuse me of being a heretic because that is exactly what you are since you pretend to follow Christ and deny his sacrifice is enough. That is why you can not say that you accept the gift.
WHo is Jesus ?
The second person of the Trinity (Father , Son , Holy Ghost= one - echad)
He came in the flesh
Was born of the Virgin Mary
He was crucified and died on the 14th day of Nissan(Passover)
He rose from the dead 3 days later on the 17th day of Nissan (Feast of First Fruits)
He died to make atonement for the whole world.
That means he died in place of me (you)because I(you) am(are) a sinner and the penalty for sin is death.
It’s his gift to the world . God became man to bridge the gulf between us , the gulf that was created by our sins.
You don’t get saved until you accept the gift that was his sacrifice . That means you actually have to humble yourself and realize that nothing you do can be good enough.
He is a HOLY God and there is nothing HOLY about a sinner.
Call me what you want , I don’t care .
I know Jesus , I really know HIM .
You’re fruits show you are exactly what you accuse me to be.
In other words you don’t bother to read the Bible because it is easier to just believe what someone else tells you.
Says everything when YOU have the insolence to call someone else ignorant .
ROFLOL Time of the reformation ey? If we used scripture like the Catholics do we could give them heartburn with that verse. If Peter is the rock I suppose they would have to conclude that Paul knew that Luther was going to change things.
It becomes rather obvious to me that you put your trust in the RCC rather than Christ.
Reading post #627, I don’t see a good reason for this “making it personal” post of yours.
I’m ready to believe that stfassisi “bothers” to read the Bible.
I’m also ready to believe that he believes in Jesus Christ as our Savior.
1Peter2:17
Now that's funny...
However, when you read those same scriptures, they tell us and you that your Catholic Church is not authentic...
So who ya gonna believe, your Catholic Church, or God???
The problem is that you guys read and believe what your religion says about God and the scriptures while completely ignoring the scriptures...You don't know what God says, only what you are told He says...
Martin Luther was a Catholic who actually read the scriptures...All those 'heretics' that your religion murdered read and believed the scriptures...They know/knew what God says...
Asking a question is not projecting-there are so many strange beliefs people on FR have that it's necessary to people in order to find the error in which they might have fallen into.
Are you mainstream protestant? Baptist,Methodist,Lutheran, Reformed? Are you non denominational, which would be like playing "wack a mole" on how many endless error's and heresies one believes?
since you pretend to follow Christ and deny his sacrifice is enough
I don't deny Christ's Sacrifice,It's never ending since God is outside of time and everything is one event for Him
Youre fruits show you are exactly what you accuse me to be.
Because you're outside of Catholisim/Orthodox and are willingly anti Catholic, my Catholic Faith requires me to point out your error. It's an act of love, dear Lera, although you might not see it that way,so how you view my fruits are skewed to me.

That would be correct. I just don't guess at what the Scriptures mean and trust Christ gave us the Church to interpret them correctly.
You're too funny. Ever think of becoming a comedian?
Martin Luther was a Catholic who actually read the scriptures
Ah yes,he read them and wanted remove the book of James and others. You must be proud of him?
Very nice blog, dear sister, you’re a gifted writer. My youngest daughter is as well and is a senior at Ithaca college.
Here is some good educational source you might enjoy from Marquette called Jewish Roots of Eastern Christian Mysticism
