Dear Friends,
I request your prayers at this time for my daughter Mary as she embarks on a six-month mission to Kenya. This mission is under the auspices of her Alma Mater, St. Josephs University, and involves working with orphans and other children affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
She is departing from Dulles Airport in Northern Virginia on Friday, February 10. Her mother and I are very proud of the work she has undertaken in Africa. She has already completed service trips to Tanzania and Kenya, each of two weeks duration. At the same time, I dont mind telling you that both her mother and I are fearful of the danger she may face over there. I sent her numerous articles regarding Islamic persecution of Christians in Kenya and requested that she reconsider her plans. However, she is adamant in her intent to undertake this mission.
She has received the blessing of our parish on her mission the parish gave her a stipend to defray the expenses of her trip.
We are committed Christians who recognize the duty of the faithful to Witness the immutable Truth of God. We are resigned to her undertaking this mission as one to which she has been called. We request your prayers for the success of her mission. We request your prayers for the innocent children of Kenya whom she goes to serve. We request your prayers for her safe return at the conclusion of her mission.
A touching request. I shall so pray.
Memorare said. Sounds like she’s doing wonderful things. My prayers also for her folks. ;)
I sincerely pray that you will use all necessary force to stop her. The Moslems in Kenya will try to kill any Christian they see in their midst as mandate 45 times in the koran. Many fine mission fields right here. Good Luck. Use tough love.
My prayers are with your brave daughter! No doubt many lives will be touched by the courage and conviction of her compassion.
Always happy to pray for those with the courage to bring the Gospel into the dark places on the planet. May the LORD be with your beloved daughter as she undertakes this journey. may he bless her with strength, health, and a powerful witness to those in darkness.
That takes courage and love for those in need.
May the Good Lord keep her and protect and provide for a fruitful ministry.
Many prayers and praise as well for your lovely daughter and may G-d shorten the passage of time for you all from the time she leaves until she returns home safe and sound. You must be so proud.
Prayers
May such a selfless and loving act be rewarded by God. Bringing goodness and joy to others, I am sure she will touch many hearts and bring light into this world of darkness. Bless her and her mission.
Prayers up!
Godspeed, Mary!
My two daughters spent a month working at a rural hospital in Kenya last March. They are both in the medical field and periodically go to third world countries to work, as well as having gone on non-medical missions. If I remember correctly, the primary trouble spots in Kenya are along the northern borders, particularly with Somalia. The interior is much safer. My impression was that they felt safer there than in some of the other countries they have worked in.
If you don’t have an account with Facebook, I recommend starting one. I put it off until last year. It is a very convenient way to share photos.
Also, a weekend excursion to the Masai Mara would be something that they should look into while they are there.
Best wishes to you and yours.
God bless and God speed. Prayers are up.
Prayers up for your daughter.
And you, sir, have led an interesting life. Great “About” page!
God be with her and her soldiers in Christ.
Many blessings, dear friend.
May Angels guard her while she is away and bring her home safe! Such a brave young lady she is!
Hugs and continued prayers for Mary!
DONE!!
Praying for Mary.
