ping to you — is this an embrace of the belief in the Trinity by Pentecostals?
Well perhaps the scales will be lifted from the eyes of Jakes and he’ll see the reality of his buddy 0bama, who might have professed to be a Christian, but ‘by his works’ we know exactly what he is.
A good sign in the efforts towards full Christian unity.
The YBPDLNPL is generally published infrequently, but based on the exploits of the megachurch pastors posts can spike for a period of time. If you would like on or off of this list please FReepmail me.
I have read Jakes and watched his sermons for years. I was so disappointed in the apparent racial aspect of his love of Obama. Because someone as pro-abortion as Obama can’t be interpreted as a Christian.
That’s quite a flip-flop.
Changes in the Pentecostal world? Are they moving away from rejecting the Trinity?
As far as I know, only the "Oneness" Pentecostalists are modalist.
What appears to be happening is that Jakes is good at spinning his position, and certain evangelical leaders aren't good at asking the right questions. Google on "Elephant Room 2".
Whoa!!! Don’t go broad-brushing Pentecostals with that statement. The majority of Pentecostals, like Assemblies of God like I grew up with and others, believe in the Triune God. Just like is obvious and clear in the Bible. In fact I don’t remember even hearing of ‘Oneness Pentecostalism’ before this article.
More like a conversion.
Wow He could have been somebody if he had repented earlier better late than never though.
time4good, meet cronos.
I am a Oneness Pentecostal and don’t believe in the doctrine of the Trinity. I also don’t think the term “modalist” is an accurate description of what oneness people believe.
wow....
incoming......
None of that now! The mind reading posters will explain to you what you believe and decide whether it’s allowable.

Would it be more accurate to rephrase my comment "As far as I know, among Pentecostalists, only the 'Oneness' groups are not trinitarian."?
I’m pretty sure most pentecostals are trinitarian.
Hello. Greetings.
Some background about me:
A former college roommate is Oneness Pentecostal (OP). At least four people in my Trinitarian church (C&MA) were UPC (United Pentecostal Church). One of my favorite radio shows is hosted by Irvin Baxter, a UPC pastor.
I think an OP/UPC person CAN be a born-again Christian, just for the record.
I say all this to say I that I can accept an OP/UPC person as a brother/sister in Christ.
BUT......
Can you tell me how you interpret this verse:
Matt 26:39
“And he went a little farther,
and fell on his face, and prayed, saying,
O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me:
nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

.
To whom was Jesus speaking and praying to in the garden when He asked His “Father” to have the cup pass from Jesus?
This is quite an honest question.
Thanks, in Christ.
