Black pastors tend to have more guts than their white counterparts. They say it like they see it.

Rick Santorum made his first Florida campaign stop at Dozier’s church, where he gave a faith-based sermon.

Gave a sermon? I didn't know Santorum was a minister! Idiot reporter.

“Blacks are not going to vote for anyone of the Mormon faith,” Dozier said. “The book of Mormon says the Negro skin is cursed.”

From 1849 through 1978 the Church of Latter-Day Saints barred blacks from its priesthood. The church has lifted but not repudiated the policy.

Very interesting. And no, I never heard that about the Mormon faith. If that is true, the good pastor is absolutely correct that it will be used against Romney, should he become the nominee.

Embracing black conservatives is heartwarming both to me and to them. For far too long, they have not had an equal voice. Several of my friends are so frustrated, even in family conversations, that they are talked down or have to remain quiet. I am thrilled seeing them get their voice. They are as significant a voting block as any other and I value their opinion.
Rick Santorum, while not my first pick, primarily because I don’t think he could stand up to the 0bama machine (and he comes off as kind of stiff), is nonetheless steadfast in his faith and beliefs, a man of conviction. He pulls no punches calling Islam what it is and certainly understands who our enemy is in Iran.

Yes, I’m still mad at him for endorsing Specter over Toomey years ago...but Pat Toomey is Senator now and it is time to move on. I like Rick’s ideas on manufacturing, having worked in it in some form or another for 30+ years.

And I like Rick anytime over Romney.

There are numerous reasons not to vote for Romney, but adding his religion to the list is bigotry, and I’ll have none of it.

I would guess blacks have more of a problem with Romney because he has an “R” next to his name rather than his mormonism.
So called “religious” blacks had no problem overlooking Obama’s radical pro-abortion, pro-infanticide beliefs.

I wish people would point out that Obama’s marxism is what the real threat is here.

IS MITT ROMNEY A BIGOT OR IS HE A LIAR?

Dear Mitt,

We have a simple question that requires a simple YES or NO answer.

Do you believe the Book of Mormon is true?

Sincerely,

Main Stream Media

And the Lord had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 5:21

The Mormon Church's past is indeed racist. From its scripture, to its doctrine, to teachings by top leadership, to its overt treatment of Blacks and American Indians – it is easy find hundreds of examples of overt racism.

If Mitt says YES to the above question, then he has proven himself a bigot. If Mitt says NO, then he has lived a lie throughout his entire life.

It's his Achilles heel and I can assure you that the MSM will ask the above question, or one like it, and then hammer home Mitt’s response if he becomes the Republican nominee.

I have come to know a lot of Mormons the past two years. I have been to many Mormon homes and church events. There are always people of all races including lots of blacks. Numerous times I have met blacks that have married in to white Mormon families. I’ve never heard one racist comment from any Mormon. A few weeks go I attended a concert of religious music by someone who is Mormon. The singer Gladys night. I am not a Mormon. I’m too much if an ass to be one. They are all nice to almost the point of being creepy. But then they are nit creepy. Nicest people around.

The South Park guys did a broadway play about Mormons. In ine scene they do a song which describes the Mormon change is attitude about black people:

This type of comment doesn’t help Santorum.
There was a time when America questioned the advisability of electing a Catholic to the presidency. While I dislike Mitt the candidate, I can’t see that his religion itself is an issue. Now, would he use his presidency as a bully pulpit for Mormonism (as Kennedy did not)?

We quit that around, lessee... 1978.

But you should have seen us BEFORE then!

Whoooee!!!

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6 'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Yeah; Native Americans are althroughout the Book of MORMON; too.

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)

I’ve been wondering if his faith might be some of the reason he’s reluctant to release his tax returns. We know he’s tithed millions to the Mormon church, but maybe the actual figure is more staggering than a “few” million. And no matter how great the effort is to mainstream LDS as a legit Christian religion, people will consider it a cult on some level, even if subconsciously. We’re engineered to consider a person a kook if throwing tons of money into a weird cause.

Also, the returns might show the family has donated a paltry amount to charity (aside from LDS), similar to Gore, Clinton, etc.

Romney seems to be a nice guy with a decent family. Maybe he’s too nice to verbally confront the MSM and Obama in a brutal, offensive, and ruthless way. We need that in our candidate.

FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Brigham Young taught that the punishemnt for any member of his cult that married a Black, Indian or Islander was DECAPITATION....And any offspring also would have to be DECAPITATED. Young taught that this "sin" was so serious that it was beyond the atoneing power of Christ, and only the "sinner's" own blood could atone for it.

Bluemoose is a member of the cult.

I'll give him an opportunity to first deny it before I post the referenced quotes from his own books.

Of course he's free to denounce FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Brigham Young as a prophet.

Santorum is correct, breakaway LDS sect mormonism is racist. Even very recently, cult leaders have taught that black/indian/islander folks who "convert" will see their skin and appearance change over time, and will become "white and delightsome".

He’s right if a bit bombastic.

From the article: “From 1849 through 1978 the Church of Latter-Day Saints barred blacks from its priesthood. The church has lifted but not repudiated the policy. “ Yep. In 1978 the Mormon god changed his mind because of an impending lawsuit.

I don’t know the people involved, but sometimes when you have a religious leader speaking with you, you will get some wild eyed views. How popular is this preacher? Does his flock forgive him his occasional racist / religionist views? What is the good in him? There was no good in rev wright.

I hope Santorum knows what he’s doing with this guy.

And I don’t think we want to go after Romney’s religion. A lot of things were racist in Americas past. Old fights. One of the few Mormons I know s black.
