Will Tim Tebow Spark an American Revival?
Canada Free Press ^ | 1/16/2012 | Kelly O'Connell

America is in full-blown crisis. The continuous dysfunction in our government and culture at large reflect this. The American family has imploded and hundreds of millions are hooked on psychotropic drugs. Our national debt is a giant $15 trillion tumor on our economy while the welfare state explodes. Pornography is omnipresent, 80% of new diseases are STDs, while 50 million babies have been aborted. Our Arts have fallen into mindless depravity and utter darkness and cannot uplift their audience. Our ability to reason and debate have evaporated, leaving mindless emotions behind.

The honest admit America is a gravely ill land - both emotionally and spiritually. We have become a licentious, rude, self-centered, illiterate, perverse, complaining, short-sighted, illogical, cold, impious, disloyal, greedy, bitter, materialistic, ungodly, gossiping, irreligious land full of idolatry. Despite the fact that nearly 80% of Americans claim to be Christians, as a society, we allow doubters to set the rules for daily life. Is Jesus dying in America? Perhaps Nietzsche was correct when he wrote: ” Whither is God?...We have killed him—you and I. All of us are his murderers.” In other words, we need revival.

There are only 310 million people in the US, so the number of those hooked on psychotropics is considerably lower than what the author states --but his point is valid on how hope for America lies in the hearts of Individual Believers.

We need a president who will do two things:

1) Veto any bills that will continue the massive spending. We need annual Trillion dollar budget cuts. Maybe more than that.

2) Be a cultural cheerleader for more morality. We don't needs laws in this area; we don't need government intervention. But we need a president who will name names and criticize social trends which hurt the nation. Use the bully pulpit. Explain that there is good and there is bad, and that people need to make good choices.

Unfortunately, no one on the scene will be able to do either of these two things, never mind both of them.

It seems like the only clear cultural butt-kicker out there who is a devout Christian, who understands the Enemy, and who is close to what you describe is Col. West. He has taken some stands and made some votes that have disappointed, but in a Nation of wimpy men and stupid women in politics, he could be the one - we really cannot wait for 2016.

The reality is that the USA is in crisis beyond economic, that it is truly spiritual. What we have just seen with Tim Tebow, the interest of is that of a Christian beliver who does the walk for the Lord, win, lose, or tie.

I disagree about "naming names". The President shouldn't target specific citizens for ridicule except in the gravest of circumstances.

The idea reminds me too much of Bob Dole criticizing movies he admitted thay he hadn't seen.

He is regarded by some as the greatest college football player in history.

No way! That was Morley Drury, who called signals for the USC Trojans from 1925 through 1927.

Just to refute the ‘wordy senantics’ of the article but ‘Jesus isn’t dying in America’ but America is dying for rejecting Him, unfortunately we have become a nation the founders endeavored to prevent and warned against.

Because I do not have a horse in the race for the GOP nomination, not liking any of them, I decided until after the primary process is over with, I will continue to have the Tim Tebow for President bumper sticker on my car. You would not believe how many thumbs-ups I see in my rear view mirror. And this is Seahawk territory. You could not get us in Seahawk territory to think one kind thought about any Denver player, and this goes back years to the dirty playoff games with them in Mile High back in the Chuck Knox days.

This country needs clean cut heroes. In comes Tim. He makes many people feel good. 85% claimed to be Christians after 9-11. Tim is not offensive to most of them I would think. Will he spark a revival? He will will help it along if not.

Well, if our PINO can get away with not proving he is a ‘natural born citizen’ then why worry about minimum age requirements? Tim has more maturity and class in his pinky finger than the entire Barry Soetoro Administration put together.

At least he is planting the seeds for one.

He has 1,515,000 friends on Facebook. He has planted more than that many seeds so far.

“”I will continue to have the Tim Tebow for President bumper sticker on my car. You would not believe how many thumbs-ups I see in my rear view mirror. And this is Seahawk territory.””

Hallelujah! :) On the Left coast even! ;)

May God guide our course.
