Yesterday, November 29, the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights dismissed a George Washington University law professor’s complaint that The Catholic University of America (CUA) committed sex discrimination when it decided to return to single-sex dormitories.
The D.C. Human Rights Office dismissed Banzhaf’s complaint this week, according to The Washington Post, “writing that single-sex dorms are not discriminatory because they do not treat men and women differently. The order says that under Banzhaf’s reasoning, the university would be forced to abandon single-sex sports teams, locker rooms and bathrooms.”
“Catholic University’s return to single-sex dormitories puts the Catholic Church’s teaching into practice in a concrete way,” continued Reilly. “This ruling dispels an activist attorney’s ridiculous claims and makes it easier for Catholic colleges and universities across the country to follow the lead of the American bishops’ university.”
Last June, CUA president John Garvey wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal in which he announced that the University would be returning to the policy of single-sex student residences on campus to combat the problems of binge drinking and hooking up. Soon after Garvey’s announcement, John Banzhaf, professor of law at George Washington University, claimed that CUA’s move constituted discrimination under the D.C Human Rights Act.
CNS president Patrick J. Reilly debated Banzhaf on Fox News in support of CUA’s position and defended single-sex dorms in columns in The Washington Times and Crisis Magazine. CNS also issued a special report identifying the presence of a hook-up culture on Catholic campuses and warning of the emotional and physical costs of casual sex among students. The report, published by CNS’s Center for the Advancement of Catholic Higher Education, reviews the social science literature that has been published over the course of the last twenty years on student behavior and college policies, including the..........

The next ruling I want to hear is the courts have told Banzhaf the same thing in suit about crucifixes in classrooms that muslims must use for their prayers.......
This man is a danger to society and should be disbarred - AFTER he is locked up.
This pitiful excuse for a human being is too good for a sewer - he is toxic waste unto himself.
Not to mention that there is only two different kinds of dorms and it is not a choice.

You mean a Catholic school is going to be against unmarried men and women sleeping in the same dorms? Who would have though. “Uhhh I’m going downstairs to get laid.” I think they would want to prevent that in a Catholic school.
Banzhaf gives my profession a very bad reputation.

It is all Marxism—they want to say there is no difference between males and females.....they are interchangeable......it is what the homosexual movement is all about—Marxism—egalitarianism. They are trying to redesign human nature—to conform so they can create this Brave New World of no reason and Truth.
They ‘Pretend” there is no biological differences and are forcing elementary schools to teach the Marxist lies so they destroy Christianity and Natural Law Theory—the foundation of our legal system and Constitution where Natural Rights come from GOD.
Marxists want children who have no foundation of Right and Wrong based on the Bible. Christianity creates individualism and loyalty to family and not the state.
It is unconstitutional to destroy the standards we are Founded on—God’s—not Barney Franks.
. It is absurd to destroy reason, logic and science for barney’s immoral thinking where there is no Right and Wrong. Christian ethics is what made Western Civilization the BEST on earth for freedom and prosperity. No other ideology or Theology has been quite as great.
Heard an interview with the CUA prez yesterday and he said an outcome from the case was an amicus brief (I think) that showed binge drinking was greater in co-ed dorms as the girls tried to keep up with the boys.

here is a concept.....enforce the drinking age law on campuses.... I know, I know.... too radical....
They simply want to be the ones who decide for all of society what those differences are.

What do you mean by only 2 different kinds of dorms and no choice?
Omn my fours years at CUA, there was a mix of male/female only dorms and male and female mixed dorms )males on one floor, females on the other).
In my time there, I did not note significant problems with pregnancy or binge drinking. I didn’t see a real problem with mixed dorms.
The new president is wanting to make CUA more truly Catholic which I’m fine with even though I stated that I didn’t see any major problems with mixed dorms.
The one major problem CUA has is the crime associated with being located in a ghetto in northeast DC. My freshman year, there were some 7 murders on the small campus, all of which involved individuals who were not students or faculty. They were outsiders and dwellers of the ghettos.
So, a prof from one college is upset over the rules of another college of which he isn’t even employed. His own college should terminate his rear on stupidity alone.
Egalitarianism is to treat everyone exactly the same—no differentiation. Men and women are interchangeable....no male/female roles (those are all culturally constructed anyhow. says the Marxists/Feminists/atheists/pagans).
Of course, the Marxists want a Brave New World—to ignore how men and women are designed to procreate and they want the state to raise the children so that they can form the correct worldview.
Society under the Marxists is really ugly—and boring and inhumane—children have no connection to biological parents. Biology can get in the way of loyalty to the state.
Homosexuality is the Marxist camel’s nose.....it confuses children so they can never make sense of their world and grow up with a worldview based on paganism/marxism/occultism where there is no design by God. No Biblical Truths and no Objective Truth which is what the US Constitution embraces.
We have God’s Standard of Right and Wrong (as in the Bible). We were not Founded on Barney Frank’s twisted perverted, selfish standards. In fact, sodomy should be made illegal again like it would have been if we didn’t kick God out of the public square. It is SO unconstitutional—to change the fundamental principle of our Constitution—of Right Reason according to Nature. Natural Law is where Common Sense originates. We can NEVER have ARBITRARY laws based on moral relativism—like Barney’s and Hitler’s standards of Right and Wrong. Natural Law presupposes a Supreme Being—God—and not allah, buddha or whatever. The Christian Bible is what formed the standards that created Natural Rights (inalienable—from God). We can NEVER adopt moral relativism without kicking God out of our legal system. Then we will be like Stalin’s Russia which had a Separation of Church and State in their system of government.
