Why is it so difficult for Catholics to understand that a Christian is someone who believes on and trusts in Jesus for salvation?

...because they trust in the Catholic Church for their salvation. ERGO, if you aren’t Catholic, you can’t be saved. ERGO, you’re not a Christian. Lovely, huh?
