A notoriously 'gay-friendly' parish in San Francisco has invited an openly homosexual Episcopalian cleric to lead an Advent Vespers service.
Most Holy Redeemer parish asked Bishop Otis Charles, a retired Episcopalian prelate, to lead the November 30 service. After serving as the Bishop of Utah from 1971 to 1993, he publicly announced that he is homosexual. Divorced from the mother of his 5 children, he solemnized a same-sex union in 2004.
No it wasnt.
The tax collector simply repented, as did the thief on the cross. In the case of the woman, Jesus Himself said it was her FAITH that saved her.
Luke 7:39-50 39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner." 40And Jesus answering said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." And he answered, "Say it, Teacher."
41"A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. 42 When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?" 43Simon answered, "The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt." And he said to him, "You have judged rightly." 44Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. 47Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgivenfor she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little."
48And he said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." 49Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, "Who is this, who even forgives sins?" 50And he said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
Luke 18:9-14 9He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: 10"Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.' 13But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted."
Luke 23:30-43 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" 40But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong." 42And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." 43And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Its amazing to me that to take positions the Catholics take on some portions of scripture they have to deny or twist other portions of scripture to make it work.
And the Toothe Fairy will deliver your Christmas presents on Easter Eve...
Apparently this is where rzman21 got his information...And apparently he believes in all that trash that you posted...
Post 2722 Jesus was sinless by nature. Mary was sinless by grace.
Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
So who do we believe??? Father John, or Jesus???
So John was there??? He saw Mary go up??? If not, his testimony is worthless...
Scripture cannot contradict itself because GOD cannot contradict HIMSELF.
If there appears to be a contradiction in Scripture with a verse compared to the rest of it, then it’s obvious that the verse has been misinterpreted.
As is all of your testimony about Christ and Paul. After all, you weren't there. You didn't see it.
In the church of Christ that Paul organized, the bishops and elders were all married with families...
1Ti 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
1Ti 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
1Ti 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
1Ti 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Now this couldn't possibly apply to anyone in your religion could it??? Not even your pope...
How do you guys build a religion and call it Christian when it's based on rejecting clear, plain scripture???
Was Mary flesh and blood? Is there any reason to suggest an exception in her case?
Then I shall ask you...Was that body of Mary assumed alive into heaven? If so, of what use is a fleshly body in heaven? Or was it a dead body that was assumed? Alive or dead? Or will this fall into the “mystery” class?
Thanks.
Maybe this will make it clickable:

Could you summarize it, please?
So where do you fit in??? Up until Vatican II, they taught that you are going to hell unless you join their religion and bow down to their pope...
They teach that you must have faith and do good works so that some day, maybe you will go to heaven...
They do not teach the indwelling of the Holy Spirit for all believers...
They teach that if you do not get baptized in water, you are going to hell...
They teach that their religion is the Kingdom of God, on Earth...
They teach that salvation and grace comes only thru Mary...
They teach that no one has a personal relationship with God...
They teach that no one including you can understand even the simplest verse in scripture, except for their magisterium...
They teach that all Christians will end up at the Great White Throne judgment to face a penalty for the good and bad that they've done...
This list could go on forever...
So where do you fit into their theology???
INDEED.
INDEED.
I just love it that everything about the Holy Mother of God offends the protestants. I am proud that they accuse me of worship when I praise her, love her, try to emulate her, ask for her blessing—then my Lord Jesus will know that I am deeply touched by her fiat, and want to say the same to the Holy Spirit as she did to God: “Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.”
I find it silly that they reserve the most hateful ugly words they can find to fling against those who love the Jewish maid who blessed God with everything she possessed, her very life, flesh and blood.
No one can offend me with Mary, or offend me with my love for her. Any attempt just reminds me that we must all strive to offer to our Savior what she offered: obedience, love, our work, our play, our songs, our worship, our love and gratitude to the Father, our presence and our sorrow at His cross, our rejoicing at the resurrection.

John Rutter Magnificat
That's the way it's supposed to be....If we are all under one Catholic umbrella, and the umbrella get a little leaven, the whole bunch is full of leaven...
We all have the same words of God...As individual churches it is up to us to follow God, or not...
With slight variations, most of the Protestant type churches end up under the umbrella of God's scripture in unity...
Must seem strange to you guys that we are so independent of each other but yet so united...You guys just can't fathom that...
The thing that unites us is the Teaching Authority of the Holy Spirit teaching thru the scriptures...
Spend some time in the epistles you ignore and you then will see...
Sorry, I will not step into your parlor. That is a fancy web you’ve constructed, but I will not be drawn into an irrational harangue which has been running at FR for years. HAve Nice Day
He did that by founding His Church.
No He didn't...He did that by preserving his words in a book to last thruout the ages...
Your religion doesn't have any of the words of Jesus except those found in the book Jesus preserved...
You can stake the claim for creating the first book with bindings, but it was the power of God that preserved His words...In the book...
