I just love it that everything about the Holy Mother of God offends the protestants. I am proud that they accuse me of worship when I praise her, love her, try to emulate her, ask for her blessing—then my Lord Jesus will know that I am deeply touched by her fiat, and want to say the same to the Holy Spirit as she did to God: “Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.”

I find it silly that they reserve the most hateful ugly words they can find to fling against those who love the Jewish maid who blessed God with everything she possessed, her very life, flesh and blood.

No one can offend me with Mary, or offend me with my love for her. Any attempt just reminds me that we must all strive to offer to our Savior what she offered: obedience, love, our work, our play, our songs, our worship, our love and gratitude to the Father, our presence and our sorrow at His cross, our rejoicing at the resurrection.

Exactly. They are deeply offended by the submission that Mary showed. The contrast of Mary's humility to the arrogant Protestant declaration of "I am the Church" really is quite telling.

When you define yourself not in terms of what you are, but in terms of what you are not, then all kinds of silly possibilities can be developed.

“Be it done unto me according to Thy Word.”

For that to be authentically, deeply, broadly, intensely true . . . for any individual . . .

said individuals would likely

already be earnestly OBEDIENT in spirit and letter to HIS LIVING WORD here:

Exodus 20:4-6 4 "You shall NOT make for yourself
a carved image,
or any likeness
of anything
that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Fantasies about a power-mongering old boys' club Magicsterical concocted 4th member sharing the hypostatic union of the God-head are spiritually blasphemous and spiritually deadly. It does not matter the size or degree of fossilization of the INSTITUTION proffering them.

The Authentic Mary herself fiercely condemns such hideousness already. And will do so on Judgment day.

Denial of facts does not alter the facts.

Amen, Judith Anne.

Just came from a wonderful Mass in honor of her Immaculate Conception.

Oh Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Protestants are never offended about the Mary the scriptures speak of. You greatly error to imply we do anything other than honor her for her humble submission to our Father's will. She was the chosen vessel to bring our savior into this world and We as Christians celebrate HIS arrival above all else.

What we do Not do is make an idol of her...pray to her...bow down to her...or call her equal to the savior in any way shape or form. Nor do we call her "the Holy Mother Of God'... as if God needed a mother.

Further, we do Not set aside celebrations adoring her, or build idols of her of all manner of mans imaginations and then adorning her in all manner of dress and attire to march thru parades as the pagans did. That we do not do nor should we.

I thank God that he showed me that catholic rituals so often oppose what Jesus himself said we are not to do. ..no images nor idols, nor are we to bow before them or pray to them...let alone make them so that people make idols of them.

You are wrong in your accusations against protestants...and as much in your ritual and practice of elevating Mary above that of our Savior. In doing so you have dethroned Christ's rightful place as central to the body of Christ.
