Are dinosaurs fossils really that old? [vanity]
Posted on 10/28/2011 6:39:41 AM PDT by Ancient Drive
I read that carbon dating method is only accurate for up to 30,000 yrs. So how are scientists coming up with millions yrs. old fossils? For all we know dinosaurs died off not millions but 100's of thousands of yrs ago.

I don’t believe he specified “God Days” or “Earth Days” in the account of events. A day is a relative term when comparing the experience of corporeal beings vs an immortal being like God.

Why would a website have the real answer?

actually, most dinosaurs are small. Just like all canines are descended from one pair of say, wolves, all dinosaurs, big and small, could be descended from a small pair on the arc.

Except that the days are punctuated by dark and light and called out, such as “this was the first day”

Man goes to God and asks, “What’s a million years to you?”
God answers, “A second.”
Then the man asks God, “What’s a million dollars to you?”
God answers, “A penny.”
Then the man asks God, “Can I have a penny?”
And God answers, “Sure, in a second.”

Surely you jest. Latent memories of dinosaur/human interaction had nothing to do with it? And who is this “Ralph Kramden” that keeps showing up in my serious Flintstone research?!!

Because it was. By your answer, I’ll take it you are not a believing Christian, and as such the Bible is probably just foolishness to you anyway.

I suggest you check out www.answersingenesis.com or www.icr.org I would recommend http://talkorigins.org/origins/faqs-qa.html instead, seeing as it is based on science rather than mythology.

Could, but why is that important when He didn’t?

“using known decay rates”
I believe a problem with this assumes (and we all know what “ass u me” means) that decay rates have always been constant. We have no idea what decay rates were in the distant past. We just ASSUME they were the same as today.
