Would You Attend a Same-Sex Wedding? {ans by Joel Osteen}

Would you attend a same-sex wedding ceremony? That question was posed recently to Houston pastor Joel Osteen, and Osteen said that he would attend, if the wedding involved friends. This came just after Osteen indicated that he could not perform a same-sex marriage ceremony, since he believes that homosexuality is a sin.
I recently wrote about this exchange, suggesting that Osteens position is morally and theologically incoherent. As I said:
This is beyond mere incoherence. It is moral and theological nonsense. More than that, it is a massive statement of ministerial malpractice. . . . You cannot celebrate what you say you know to be sin. You cannot honestly say that same-sex marriage defies the law of God, and then join in the celebration of that ceremony.
In recent days, Uri Scaramanga of Out of Ur and Leadership magazine posed the question to readers, using my comments as a point of reference. The question: Is Al Mohler right? Is attending a same-sex marriage ceremony the same as performing one? Is it ministerial malpractice? What would you do?
The responses to that question are revealing. I did not, however, argue that attending a same-sex marriage ceremony is the same as performing one, I did say - and I repeat - that it is incoherent and inconsistent to refuse to perform a same-sex marriage ceremony, and then to attend one.

Since you say humans do not have the intelligence to know what living outside of time entails, why should Socrates or Aquinas know?

They understood the futility part. I did not claim they had full understanding, your comprehension is out of phase. Some things are impossible to FULLY explain but formulating critical thinking takes the stupidity (Asinine questions) out of the certain equations. I.E. they argued that for a cause there must be a "primary" if you believe nature/universe is temporal. That primary also resides outside of time and space as well, meaning our intelligence cannot *fully* understand the mind of the Primary since we exists in the temporal world. People started to believe individuals who were "touched" by the Primary out of the Primary's will. Some believe Jesus was/is an agent for the Primary explaining the reason for our existence.
In the end, all that humans have is faith. Faith that the Primary exists or doesn't, that the Secondary our responsible for their actions. Aquinas took on the arguments and deconstructed each side then came to a rational conclusion of Primary and Secondary causation.

I’m not seeking answers from God, that is why I ask people.

I know. If you humbled yourself before the Primary there would be no more “asking of the questions”. I was inquisitive like yourself at onetime, but then I “submitted” and my mind as well as my heart became “opened”.

Apparently you either have a reading impediment or you just cannot accept what people say when it isn’t what you think it should be. Perhaps you should pray more for yourself, than for others.

You ask the same "questions" over and over again to different freepers when various threads about "free will", the Primary's observation of the humans' future, how can the Primary hold people accountable, etc... pop up.
The answers provided by different freepers over the years to you have been pretty much the same response since the Word pretty much already answered those questions 2000 years ago to their satisfaction based on humbling themselves before God.
Gee, uniformity even among the Calvinists (Predestination) on how a Primary that "witnesses" the future holds the Secondary accountable. What do you expect from a viewpoint of Christianity? That their Lord's basically says "If it feels good, do it, because I know your future so you are not eternally responsible and the events won't change by the way. Even though the world is the way it is because I saw the future, does not mean secondary causation can occur. Go have fun and cause plenty of havoc, I have seen it all already"
For a Being who witnesses the past, present, and future(All in a collective twinkling of an eye using human terms), that has created time as well as natural Law, and given creatures the intellect based on omnipotence, we don't have an excuse; or do you actually fully understand God enough to keep on asking these asinine questions that already have a predetermined response based on historical observations and empirical evidence?
The Primary is looking for those who humble themselves and follow the Word. I pray for myself on that one as well as others, what is your specific point on why I should pray more to myself?

Yes, I keep asking because the only answers I get are what has been told them, I know those answers. I’m looking for people that can answer in their own words.
Besides, it’s one of the things I do on FR.
I think you should pray for yourself, because you seem to become agitated easily, by simple questions on this subject and you sometimes don’t seem capable of accepting what others say when it doesn’t sit right with you.

I am far from being agitated; this is quite humorous especially thinking about want kind of god(s) people have created for themselves. I respect a persons free will, even if they don't agree. For their sake, I am not responsible anyway in their POV because some god(s) have seen the future, thus it can't be changed anyway. People are at the mercy of an absentee landlord who enjoys creating havoc (Because the creation is sure as heck not responsible for the chaos).
Why is your god allowing all this suffering, misery, and death to perpetuate into this mindless existence anyway?

Since we both agree that there’s only one God, perhaps you should ask Him? I don’t know why, it’s His business. I imagine it’s all part of His plan.

Did not need to directly ask since the Word has already been revealed way before I was born. Of course it took me about 22 years to believe the Word after heavily questioning the Scriptures and humbling myself to Him (Psalm 149:4). The answers were simply there the whole him, imagine that.
Why do people seek infallible creatures for the answers while ignoring what has already been revealed? Crossing ones fingers hoping for a plan from a absentee god and pleading ignorance is like a child trapped in a violent maze. That kind of god should be shunned because "it" does not love.

Perhaps people just want to hear what the person thinks, and aren’t concerned with that which has already been revealed?
Still can’t comprehend the questions, I see.

ROTFLMAO, no offense but you seem to have a short memory. This is around #4 in terms of us discussing this subject over the years.
If you can't come to grips that Primary and Secondary causation is the heart of the matter concerning responsibility and ownership (Predicting the outcome of out-of-control human nature is easy to predict) of mankind, then other flowery language describing that foundation is futile a 5th time.
Absent of our secondary causation is either a robotic pathetic existence that is created by a god that does not love (Considering all the pain, suffering, and death without revelation), another heartless god who runs a lottery, a masochistic joker god who puts Loki to shame, multi-gods who are just confused, or no god at all.
Pleading ignorance while professing monotheism is simply a belief that god is an absentee landlord that enjoys watching the creation suffer and employs a sinister motive at the core. It is excusing deviance, crossing your fingers and hoping god is not just, creating a "pleasing" god that conforms to our infallibility, and the kicker, everyone is one big happy family in the end including the worst of the worst in society. Let us all plead ignorance of a god with a hidden along with an unexplained plan and watch the world burn even brighter due to our gift of ignorance. After all, we are just hopeless creatures who gets to enjoy eternity with a lazy god in the end.
