"Casting him as a director or perhaps as the star of 'Judah Maccabee' is like casting Madoff to be the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission," says Rabbi Marvin Heir.
Prominent Jewish leaders are beginning to speak out against Mel Gibson and Warner Bros. over their planned movie based on the life of religious icon Judah Maccabee.

You make a good point. Thank you for your reply.
Thank you for your reply. God bless you.
LOL!
“Mel can make any movie he wants, and which he can get funding for. Its still a mostly free country.”
EXCELLENT point! Thank you!
“My thought is that if they dont like it, they can make their own competing film.
Of course, they are entitled to their own opinion, but when they play the victim card, I tune em out.
Mel may be an anti-Semite, but hes a good actor, and hes entitled to make a living.”
Well said. I appreciate your reply.
F**king Jews...the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. -Mel Gibson
Nor could alcohol make a good person say:
You look like a f-cking pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of n-ers it will be your fault. -Mel Gibson
so....he's the love child of Pat Buchanan and Alec Baldwin?
Well said.
And He does historic bad ass, better than anyone, because...He BELIEVES it.
He’s on the vein.
Thank you so much for your comments. I do tend to agree with you! I especially liked your point about the MSM.
Didn’t watch “Beaver”...didn’t appeal to me for some reason. Glad to have that confirmed by you that I didn’t miss something important!
Hmmmmm I believe you said a mouthful there, lazypadawan.
Thanks Alamo-Girl! I appreciate your response...and I do tend to agree with you! (Is that why you are so smart???LOLOL!)
I had that thought too as well, Amberdawn. I appreciate your voicing it better than me.
Thank you so very much for your well-stated response, Unam Sanctam.
I can respect that, FourPeas. Thank you for your kind response.
Amen.
Thank you so much for your reply and the Google suggestion, montag813. God bless you.
Fascinating. Thank you so much for the scriptural reference, Dr. Brian Kopp. The religious tradition I was raised in did not include that book of scripture. I plan to obtain it and read it in context.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful reply. I too wish to give the benefit of doubt to Mr. Gibson, if for no other reason than for his work in the Passion.
He did indeed seem to go astray for a bit. But I look at my life, and I know that there are certainly times that could be pointed at and an outsider could easily say, “well there is someone whose life is off the rails!” I can’t even imagine having to do intense growth like that in the public eye.
Glory to God for all Good Things, that by His Grace, I am in His fold.
Good point, RobbyS. Thank you for your reply. He does indeed put himself out there with all his being.
Wow. I had not thought of that, that a potentially great biblical movie could be coming out of the “swampland” as you say! Thanks for your response!
Thanks. I despise his words, which often seem to come verbatim from his father’s mouth, but if he makes a good show of Maccabee, then it’s a step in the right direction for him. Israeli’s and all Jews should be shown in a good light, as (despite American voting records) they are fine human beings overall, and are constantly disparaged in the ‘world media’.
