A lustful thought passing through your mind is not an occassion of sin. DWELLING on that thought is sinful.

Isn’t it better these girls be in church dressed inappropriately than not in church at all?

No

Many did not receive Communion the next day because they knew that they were not a state of grace (a private matter that is not part of this discussion).

HaHa...It's not as private as you might want to think...

You should brush up on your Torah and see proscriptions it has just for clothing.

You should get out from under the law and consider God's grace...

I call it man’s definition because men actually wrote it.

There's a little more to it...

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Joh 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Men certainly wrote the words down but were they the words of men or words of God???

Psa 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psa 12:7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The bible was authored by over 20 men thruout a period of thousands of years...There are hundreds of predictions over the course of those years by the men who wrote down the scriptures and most of them have come true...We're waiting on the few that are left...

Many, many people who have made it their life's work studying the bible actually believe it couldn't have been written by man...

There are numerous things in the scriptures that are completely meaningless to any Christians up to the current date...

I beleive those things will be revealed to the people that those words were intended for in God's time...

But still, it's a matter of faith...The scriptures are opened up and revealed to born again Christians...

Psa 56:4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are fornication, uncleanness, immodesty, luxury," Galatians 5:19 (emphasis added)

So these girls are in the flesh, not the Spirit...Seems to me a church ought to be more concerned about getting these girls born again from above so they will not be 'in the flesh' when they attend church...

Apparently baptism didn't do it for them...

Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith
, Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

That last one is “religious” like Britney Spears in a Catholic school uniform or Madonna in widow’s weeds. Somebody out there has a camera and a *personal problem*.

How long can the thought be before it turns into a DWELLING?

Morganan, i think all 4 our your photos are beautiful.
my fiancee is happy to honor the Bible, and the traditions of the church.

we may not always understand commands in the Bible, but, if they are there clearly, we should obey.
as Jesus said, “If you love me, obey the commands of my Father”.

(i think it’s interesting how some churches build entire theologies on a single verse from the old or new testaments,
yet ignore clear simple commands, even when they include explanations.)
1 Corinthians 11:2-16
New International Version (NIV)

On Covering the Head in Worship
2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

///
so as Iscool and others have pointed out, there are MANY verses, directly from Holy Scripture, that support modesty, and even a “dress code”.

1 Timothy 2:9
I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves,

“I think that would be impossible for me to really know. I believe Jesus the man lived.”
///
all of you made great points to stuart about “lust”.
but quoting scripture, even the Torah, is pointless.

because it is very clear by:
“I believe Jesus the man lived”, and
“I call it man’s definition because men actually wrote it.”
that he doesn’t believe scripture is inspired,
and doesn’t believe that Jesus was more than a “good man”.

(and, frankly, i think it’s interesting to see his opinions he’s posted on other, unrelated things.)

I pray that God will reveal the truth to him.
