Pastors: Homosexuality not a sin (100 ordained Christian ministers have signed the proclamation)

A group of Omaha pastors has issued a proclamation that states homosexuality is not a sin.

More than 100 ordained Christian ministers have signed the proclamation, including leaders from Lutheran, Episcopalian, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and Presbyterian churches.

David Bydalek is executive director of Family First, the family policy council for the state of Nebraska. He deems this effort troubling for many Nebraskans and contends the ministers involved are from liberal denominations that do not respect the orthodox biblical teaching on homosexuality.

I agree homosexuality is not a sin, any more than heterosexuality is.

But acting on those urges is, just like acting on heterosexual urges, outside of marriage, is.

And saying that God approves of it, or even tolerates it, and God wants gay marriage is beyond sinful, it’s blasphemous.

I generally agree. We all struggle with sin and temptation. The point is not to act on it.

For a gay person to walk around lusting would not be appropriate, but struggling and resisting desires is a normal part of a Christian walk.

"More than 100 ordained Christian ministers have signed the proclamation, including leaders from Lutheran, Episcopalian, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and Presbyterian churches."

The "usual suspects" of apostate "Christian ministers", who long ago left the church founded by Jesus Christ. That they have continued to use the meaningless term (for them) Christian falsely claiming to belong to His Church - blaspheme a Holy God!

God is not confused--

"He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind;
...for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”
--1 Samuel 15:29

Neither Old Testament or New Testament is found ambiguous...
...or dancing around these most basic issues of human gender identity and behavior.

************

The LORD also tells us...

Woe to those who call evil good -- and good evil,
who put darkness for light -- and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet ---and sweet for bitter.

--Isaiah 4:20

These "pastors" of Omaha -- WOE!

Is there not a bible verse that states, in effect: woe unto those who call good evil and evil good!

Communist Goals (1963) 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.” 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion.

Right On! Follow the dots & you see a collapse here coming soon. The leftist scumbags have won.

Romans 10:14-21

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things?

16 But all do not obey the gospel. For Isaiah says: Lord, who has believed our report?

17 Faith then comes by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ.

18 But I say: Have they not heard? Yes, verily: Their sound has gone forth into all the earth: and their words unto the ends of the whole world.

19 But I say: Has not Israel known? First, Moses says: I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation: by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20 But Isaiah is bold, and says: I was found by them that did not seek me. I appeared openly to them that asked not after me.

21 But to Israel he says: All the day long have I spread my hands to a people that believes not and contradicts me.

■Unless they be sent... Here is an evident proof against all new teachers, who have all usurped to themselves the ministry without any lawful mission, derived by succession from the apostles, to whom Christ said [John 20:21] As my Father hath sent me, I also send you. (Challoner)

We finally have a Midwest refuge we can send our homosexuals too. First, Calif. but it was expensive to fly them all out there. Then MA., but that was too small to fit them all into. Now NY steps up and they can relocate there and have the Big Apple and the rest of the state to themselves but some didn't like big cities. So now, good old Nebraska has a city that has stepped up and said we want them to come here so they can escape those crazy Bible readers who say the Bible really does teach that it is sin. BTW, Omaha. Too late to request a name change. Both Sodom and Gommorah have been taken. Good luck with your new population At least you won't have to worry about explosive popoulation growth from a bunch of newborns.

Are you trying to bring Mormons into the thread? I asked about Glenn’s latter day Black Robed Regiment/Brigade. I didn’t ask about Mormons at all.

wow, since that is no longer a sin, then I’m curious if going to prostitutes is still a sin. What about sleeping with your best friend’s wife?

Marrying a previously divorced woman or a widow?

"When they come out with this sort of statement, I think they really do not reflect the mainstream feeling in the state of Nebraska,"

As if that has any bearing on the truth. As time goes on and various Christian denominations adopt clearly anti-Christian doctrine, it solidifies that the only Church which the Lord instituted is the Roman Catholic Church. The only one that “the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

At the times, like these, when we experience the heresies and the perversities of our brethren, remember Matthew 16:18. Our Lord is coming and it will be the Roman Catholic Church, of Rome, that stands...solid as a Rock. Fighting off all attacks from within and from without and even from its own degeneracy. Thank you, Lord God Almighty, for Your attentive guiding hand and the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for our foundation.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The nation may tumble; nations always do, in the end, when America tumbles, the Roman Catholic Church may very well see itself superseded by a government-friendly “American Catholic Church” that marginalizes the Roman church and even sends it underground. ~Elizabeth Scalia

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As we see more and more of America's disease and illness consume our culture and exceptionalism, we will also see our Roman Catholic religious be affected by our heretical dissenting American Catholic clergy and laypersons...just like we see in other Christian denominations.

Thank God for the Roman Catholic church!
