Marriage should be a right for all {pinko alert!}
the Auburn Plainsman ^ | 29.6.2011 | Editorial board

Posted on 06/30/2011 7:27:55 AM PDT by Cronos

New York approved a gay marriage bill Friday, making it the sixth state in the country to legalize homosexual unions.

We are pleased to see this measure taken in such an influential political state.

..While many of us may not exactly condone that lifestyle, to deny a same-sex couple the same rights as a heterosexual couple is wrong.

..The only factor that should make a difference in deciding to spend your life with another person is love and faithfulness

Many argue homosexual unions go against the sanctity of marriage according to their religious beliefs.

We believe the divorce rate in this country goes against the sanctity of marriage more than same-sex marriages.

In our generation, it seems as though people enter and exit marriages on a whim and don’t think about the commitment involved.

If any two adults feel they can reasonably make a marriage last “till death do they part,” then who are we to stop them?

What this victory in New York symbolizes is hope.

Hope that tolerance is coming and hope that one day people will understand.

Why can't we folks just unnerstand these gays who want us to accept their sinnin'? We are such bad people for pointing out that they sin.

Marriage is no right!.... It is a religious institution established by God.

From a societal perspective, IT IS A DUTY.

Why is it a duty??? because traditional marriage produces FUTURE TAX PAYERS!!!

Let a homo couple make babies without outside help before they start talking about “rights”!

The reality of “homosexual marriage” and monogamy is that it is contradictory to what homosexuality practices.

And homosexuals can’t procreate which is the primary reason for marriage.

Ping to the Auburn list. The source seems to be our paper, The Plainsman. Not good at all. This doesn’t reflect the feeling of the majority of people here.

homosexuals just can’t accept that a sexual fetish does not contribute to the continuance of society.

homosexual conduct is only about recreational sex, nothing more.

there is no love test in marriage. There is no orgasm test.

just a society rewards the institution for continuing society test.

If these people only want a right to a union.... why couldn’t we have a defined legal “union” called homosexual union or some such wording. They could hold ceremonies and all that, what ever the heck they want. Then they could have their “union”. It is not right to call it “marriage” as that already has a definition that same sex couples cannot meet.

But that is not what they are after. They want acceptance for their actions. They want validation that what they are doing is normal. They want the world to redefine God instituted holy sacraments to fit their perversions. May God have mercy on us all.

The gay activists constantly say that limiting marriage to opposite sex couples is discriminatory.

But if you think about it, limiting marriage to just two people is discriminatory. This writer is showing his/her own prejudice, by saying that “any two people” should be allowed to make committments, etc. He/she has some unspoken binary bias, that marriage is automatically two people.

Some gay activists would like to see legalized group marriage.

And if you think about it, ANY definition of marriage is discriminatory against how some people live their lives. If discrimination is our holy grail here, then logically, eventually there will not be any definition of marriage allowed, because any definition will be discriminatory to someone.

There has NEVER BEEN A LAW that prohibits homosexuals from getting married.

Homosexuals have ALWAYS HAD EXACTLY THE SAME rights as everyone else when it comes to marriage.

It’s intersting to see how many gay couples have gotten married.

In Massachusetts, which is the granddaddy of gay marriage states, only about 20% of homosexual couples in relationships have gotten married. That’s not 20% of all homosexuals, that’s 20% of homosexuals who claim to be in serious relationships.

Only 4% of marriages in Massachusetts are same-sex couples. The other 96% are traditional couples.

So it does appear that they are fighting hard for a “right”, but that relatively few will exercise that right once it’s granted.

Yes, it seems they want the right to say they can be married too, without actually going ahead and doing it.

These homosexual laws force others to support homosexual behavior. Such laws are unconstitutional in my opinion.

Intelligence tests look at how well you can discriminate between two ideas, images, concepts, etc. Vilify the word, “discrimination” and dumb down the public education system and you have this as one of the many results.

Re-defining what marriage is just throws the whole institution into chaos. What will follow are people wanting the right to group marriage (like you mentioned), polygamy, polyandry, adults-child marriage, marrying inanimate objects such as cars and pillows, adult-animal marriage, and every other bizarre and perverted thing you can think of.

These people and their financial backers are bound and determined to destroy what humanity has worked to try and build for the last 6,000 years.
