Who would you follow?

A Jesus-Muhammad Comparison

Brethren, I will share with you two stories, one from the New Testament, and the other from the Hadith or authoritative Islamic tradition, second only in authority to the Koran. Read them well and compare them, and then ask yourself, who would you rather follow? Jesus, or Muhammad?

John 8:2-11 (NIV)

2
At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them.
3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Sahih Muslim, Book 17: Number 4206:

… He (the narrator) said: There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a woman from Ghamid and said: Allah's Messenger, I have committed adultery, so purify me. He (the Holy Prophet) turned her away. On the following day she said: Allah's Messenger, Why do you turn me away? Perhaps, you turn me away as you turned away Ma'iz. By Allah, I have become pregnant. He said: Well, if you insist upon it, then go away until you give birth to (the child). When she was delivered she came with the child (wrapped) in a rag and said: Here is the child whom I have given birth to. He said: Go away and suckle him until you wean him. When she had weaned him, she came to him (the Holy Prophet) with the child who was holding a piece of bread in his hand. She said: Allah's Apostle, here is he as I have weaned him and he eats food. He (the Holy Prophet) entrusted the child to one of the Muslims and then pronounced punishment. And she was put in a ditch up to her chest and he commanded people and they stoned her. Khalid b Walid came forward with a stone which he flung at her head and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and so he abused her. Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) heard his (Khalid's) curse that he had huried upon her. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Khalid, be gentle. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, she has made such a repentance that even if a wrongful tax-collector were to repent, he would have been forgiven. Then giving command regarding her, he prayed over her and she was buried.

Mohammedan’s god requires I send my son to die for him.

Christian’s God sent His only begotten Son, to die for me.

ok, now choose one.

“Why does any woman ever choose islam?”

The other option is worse?

Why does any woman ever choose islam?

Islamic women are raised to be submissive. It's their 'religion' so to speak...

They're also given freedom over things that are meaningless - like 'what's for supper' and 'how should I dry the figs'... Also, the ONLY sure way for a woman to go to 'paradise' is to have her husband love her when she dies - or he dies. Salvation for the woman is connected to how well she performs in her husband's eyes...

It's why this religion sells in inner city neighborhoods. Especially those with large numbers of criminal men. That type of man wants respect without earning it - just like he wants money and power without effort - stealing it...

Islam offers it all - and 'violence for the cause' is OK too - giving excuse for the ethically weak to prey on the innocent.

“• Are all religions essentially the same? Do they all reveal the existence of a loving, merciful God in the same way?

• In the end. who would you follow, Jesus or Muhammad?”

Teófilo,
my answers: first one - No, as evidenced by the false religion of islam. No loving God there. Second one - I would, and will, follow Jesus, no matter what, no matter where, always. Good comparison here, though. Thank you.

Stoning, being set on fire, having acid thrown in your face, beheading, being raped then having all of the former done to you by your own family to protect their honor to just name a few I have heard of happening recently.

Not knowing Christ, all of those options would be worse then accepting Islam and for a third world woman, living in an islamic country, there would be no escape.

For those not knowing Christ, yes, I can see that.

But talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

Islam makes life a living hell for those women. I can't believe that many actually really want to choose it.

Yeah, I guess that is why we were told to love our enemy.

Poor souls don’t know any different.

Well, the women certainly don’t.

I lay the blame for islam on the men.

Good to know. If they begin to round up Christians and drag them into courts, throw them in jail, or worse, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Yes. I can’t hide my Catholicism any more than I can hide my eye color. And wouldn’t. Let them come.

Yet the Christian faith, and in the global south in a special way, with new Catholics/Christians having come into the Church all over, is still the REAL fastest growing faith.

Plus this coming Sunday, the Gospel of John, Chapter 14:1-6, will be read.
