Pfleger says he will begin to preach at other churches if his suspension isn't ended

The Rev. Michael Pfleger said Tuesday in a meeting with parishioners that if he is not reinstated as pastor of St. Sabina Catholic Church by this weekend, he will begin to preach at other churches.

In his first in-depth public remarks about his suspension by Cardinal Francis George, Pfleger told a group of about 150 people that he has received numerous offers to preach from churches throughout the city and the country and needs to get back to preaching.

He did not specify at what churches he might speak or their denominations.

Still, Pfleger insisted that the only way he will leave St. Sabina is if he is thrown out or if he believes God wants him to go. Advertisement

"This has been very painful," Pfleger said, choking back tears.

George is in the process of planning a meeting with Pfleger but has not set a time yet, said Colleen Dolan, communications director for the Chicago Archdiocese.

On April 27, George sent a letter to Pfleger suspending him from his duties and saying the priest's recent remarks in the news media that he would leave the Catholic Church if he were removed from St. Sabina had "short-circuited" efforts that have been under way for weeks to reach an agreement on his transition to a new post.

With this letter, your ministry as pastor of Saint Sabina Parish and your sacramental faculties as a priest of the Archdiocese are suspended. The official rescript will follow, but this suspension permits you to retain the office of pastor while temporarily without permission to function.

So I guess Pfleger wants to add disobedience to the list.

I'm sure official sanction hasn't meant anything for this guy for a while. Just like some of the “Reverends” out there (and like some of the old time Southern “Colonels”)—he'll just still call himself “Father” Pfleger and still go around spewing his anti-white, anti-Capitalist hate and bigotry. Any church that would have him probably would consider him a priest with or without official license.

It’s not a surprise that Pfleger knows nothing of biblical authority or submission to those that God has placed over him in the church. Pfleger believes he’s above church rules and authority. Pride and arrogance will do that. This was Lucifer’s problem as well.

Correct....the flow of "social justice" propaganda and brainwashing must not be impeded, interrupted or suspended.

Probably most of the faithful have NO idea that religious denominations have their trained Marxist propagandists, infiltrators and moles as do the Media, academia, entertainment, charities, foundations, youth organizations/campus, law.....and almost every American institution that once made this a great, dynamic, free country.

Wearing a white collar is actually great cover for those hardened ideologues/operatives of the cloth who preach stealing from the rich to give to the poor and undeserving alike.

The Cardinal has dithered too long with this rebellious priest to the point where Pfleger is operating like he has the upper hand.....holding press conferences and the like. Give me a break.

Perhaps, a formal process like an Ordinate needs to be established whereby these types can be processed into an ecclesiastical entity sharing views similar to their own . These types and laity who harbor similar unorthodox views would be encouraged to depart and rid the Church of their pernicious influence.I would even have a compensation package to encourage departure. This would strengthen the Church.
