I’ll stick with a constitutional republic, even with all its flaws.

Me too and the British Royals should stay right where they are. I do not want to be ruled by one person or family.

Amen! IMO a functional, constitutional representative republic is the best form of government over any country, at any time in history. I say that as a conservative, as a student of history, as a student of Reformed theology, and as a Protestant Christian. I would think that anyone who believes in constitutional originalism would say the same thing.

Anyone who claims political American conservatism should lead to monarchism is silently advocating sedition against the Constitution of the United States and is not in agreement with constitutional originalism or American political conservatism, IMO.

A Constutional Republic it is. Interesting how, at times of crisis like this, both the Left and the Right seek to disenfranchise large segments of the population. The Right would deny the vote to the welfare recipients, the “Amish” and those sucking at the public tit. The Left would deny the vote to “Teabaggers”, Rednecks and Capitalists. I will duck out just now to avoid the blasts.

It doesn’t seem to be very constututional or republican these days.

The type of government does not matter, if it properly addresses justice.

Our Republic was designed to limit the influence of the popular will. The 17th Amendment changed that.
