To: Let_It_Be_So

A Constutional Republic it is. Interesting how, at times of crisis like this, both the Left and the Right seek to disenfranchise large segments of the population. The Right would deny the vote to the welfare recipients, the “Amish” and those sucking at the public tit. The Left would deny the vote to “Teabaggers”, Rednecks and Capitalists. I will duck out just now to avoid the blasts.

Monarchy is not denying anyone the franchise. If you think it is reasonable that people who don’t own real property or pay no taxes should vote, that is your decision (not very smart one). A monarch however, is one charged with protecting the people from the excesses of such government that they have the calamity of having. Please see the wonderful Emp. Franz Joseph quote in the article.
