I’ll stick with a constitutional republic, even with all its flaws.

Amen! IMO a functional, constitutional representative republic is the best form of government over any country, at any time in history. I say that as a conservative, as a student of history, as a student of Reformed theology, and as a Protestant Christian. I would think that anyone who believes in constitutional originalism would say the same thing.

Anyone who claims political American conservatism should lead to monarchism is silently advocating sedition against the Constitution of the United States and is not in agreement with constitutional originalism or American political conservatism, IMO.

It is of course true that the American constitution precludes any form of monarchy in the United States. I don’t think a monarchy in America is possible so long as the constitutional order exists. Trouble is, how sure are you that it exists even now? And what when our national debt becomes unmanageable?

Let me also say that the recognition of monarchy as beneficial to any society does not mean any desire to restore specifically British monarchy in America. The author states that for America best would be a return to the original consitutional principles. But I don’t think that is possible within the present day political framework.

I agree it is the best form. But I have to be honest and say I think what has developed over the years with the increasing power grabs by non elected federal officials is closer to a dictatorship of beauracrats(sp)than a constitutional republic.

How best to limit the power grabs that weaken the republic is a question I do ponder.

Interesting, I agree politically with alex that IMO a functional, constitutional representative republic is the best form of government over any country, at any time in history. -- the US's form of government has proven itself as a stable form of government. It has flaws but no worse than others and is better than others

I say this as a student of history (Assyriology, Roman, European, American and Asian), as a student of Christian theology and as a member of orthodox (a Catholic)

The webpage from which this article is derived is a flight of fancy -- the loon thinks he's a king, but that's a joke. You can't declare yourself to be king, you need "ancestry" i.e. your ancestors should have killed a lot of folks when people were still thinking in terms of clans etc.

Making a monarchy in the US today is madness

If tomorrow the US decays to anarchy (mad max), then monarchy as a stepping stone to restoration of the Republic makes sense, but not in any other condition
