On my Eastern European pilgrimage, we visited a church that was modernistically described as a 'ship.' Very traditional inside, however.

Presbyterian churches, coming from a Nordic cultural heritage, are sometimes built in an “inverted Viking ship” design. Very pretty.

A symbol of the Church

Rich in symbolic significance. Reminiscent of the Ark Noah built, used by God to carry a chosen remnant safe through the watery (this time) judgment ordeal brought upon the world.
