Evangelical book catalogs promote books such as Planet Earth: The Final Chapter, The Great Escape, and the Left Behind series. Bumper stickers warn us that the vehicles occupants may disappear at any moment. It is clear that there is a preoccupation with the idea of a secret rapture. Perhaps this has become more pronounced recently due to the expectation of a new millennium and the fears regarding potential Y2K problems. Perhaps psychologically people are especially receptive to the idea of an imminent, secret rapture at the present time. Additionally, many Christians are not aware that any other position relative to the second coming of Jesus Christ exists. Even in Reformed circles there are numerous people reading these books. Many of these people are unaware that this viewpoint conflicts with Scripture and Reformed Theology.

It is the office of the Pope and not any occupant that we hold infallible. It is only Protestants who demand Pope's be without sin.
Catholics are smart enough to know that all are sinners, differing only in degree and repentance. Even the hand picked by Jesus were highly flawed. Judas betrayed Jesus. Peter denied Jesus three times and Thomas doubted Jesus. We do not expect any better from those who seek only to serve Him.
some will keep their eyes on the Popes, let’s keep our firmly fixed on Jesus!
So true...One has to Allegorize the book of Revelation or claim the events already took place in order to miss the Rapture in the book of Revelation...
The evidence that Christians believed in the rapture long before MacDonald does not seem to have sunk into the minds of those opposed to the rapture. They still teach that she is the founder of pretribulationism. When someone is presented with overwhelming proof that he or she is wrong and refuses to accept that truth, then we certainly may conclude that he or she is in spiritual darkness.
The events of the Rapture have always been in the scripture...Obviously the Catholic religion has been teaching against the Rapture for centuries...And what is it they teach??? They say, 'don't believe it literally'...And the children follow the piper...
Again, would you validate your ridiculous claim by providing the traditions that Paul passed on outside of scripture???
Or are you just blowing bubbles again???
They teach Jesus will have one second coming, not a secret one and then a seven year wait. And when He comes for the second time, we will be caught up with Him and it will be Judgement Day. Those in the Body of Christ will be saved, those not in Christ will be damned! Pretty simple.
take a crack at post #492, what “sola scriptura” position is right?
NOPE.
Been there. Done enough of that.
Perhaps you can beg such research services from others who care to bother. I don’t.
Your assertions come across as disingenuous, farcical, UNhistorical, UNBiblical, irrational, heretical, obtuse, hypocritical, outrageous, brazen, uninformed, shallow, . . . and probably were born waddling around in funny hats in the syllable stage before they even matured into words, phrases or sentences. I still don’t think they have matured into logical, coherent paragraphs.
Those who wish to tilt at such rickety windmills are welcome to. Beyond occasionally toying with them, I don’t care to.
what do you say about post #492? care to share the biblical postion with us?
You really don't want to go there unless you have a fondness for multicolored gibberish, kook science and tired old recycled pictures of himself and his livestock.
Infant baptism for regeneration came from Augustine.
I'll bet Sancho Panza told you that too.
so St Iraneus received his teaching from Augustine, who lived 200 years after he did, rather than from Polycarp thru St John? OK, One for the Baptists, and i guess Luther and Calvin didn’t understand the Bible, so zero for the Lutherans.
Calvin did twist The Doctor of Grace’s teaching, but sorry, infant baptism didn’t come from St Augustine, but St Paul.
They say, eh?
And how do you know this? What are your sources? You know for sure that this was passed down from Paul? That this was one of the traditions to which he was referring?
Is infant baptism correct or not? You dont know, you by yourself cant know, unless you believe yourself infallible!! I can get a Lutheran say yes, a Baptist says no! Both will claim to follow sola scriptura no friend, Jesus is not the author of confusion, He left us a Church to teach!!
Which one? The Roman rite or the EO? Or maybe the Ukrainian Catholic? Perhaps the Russian orthodox?
What about Alexandrian? Syriac?
Or the Maronite or Chaldean?
Which Catholic rite is it exactly which holds the truth as passed down by the apostles and how do you know?
#492? come on, heads or tails! ( currently baptists 1 lutherans 0 )
i thought you were Catholic? don’t you know all the Catholic rites are Catholic? now try #492.
Are those corrupt, immoral popes in heaven?
Without the works to get them there?
How does that work?
Some rites don’t recognize the authority of the pope.
How does that work?
If God is not the author of confusion, then what happened here?

I did respond to it. Do you need reading comprehension lessons?
