Today is the Feast Day of St. Nicholas of Myra. He was a real man, a bishop (circa 343 AD), a servant of Christ. He did not have reindeer.

Santa Claus is a redistributionist whose favorite color is red. He spies on families all over the world. He’s targeting our kids.
Was he one of the bishops who called people "heretics" and burnt them at the stake simply for wanting to read The Bible?
Santa works for the CIA.
They’ll give anyone a keyboard these days, eh?
It is disputed whether he slapped him on the mouth, fed him a knuckle-sandwich, or boxed him on the ear, but one thing seems clear: Santa Claus most likely hit the heretic, Arius of Alexandria, during the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D.See also The Historical St. Nick: Santa Claus Punched Me in the Face

Bet you didn’t find any chocolate coins in your shoes this morning. :(
Happy Saint Nicks Day. I remember as a child fruit, nuts, chocolates and other candies placed in the shoe (wooden)left outside the bedroom door. he was called SinterKlaus. Oh well still have the wooden shoes years later and St. Nick’s Day was the day that the family got around Santa Klaus. (Yes I remember reading about St. Nick whom clobbered Arius the heretic in european history clas. To bad today we cannot clobber the heretic leaders in the church of today. Now I a disgress)
It was common practice for The Pope, Archbishops, Bishops, Priests and other Church officials to have people burned at the stake or otherwise tortured for simply wanting to read The Bible.
The only people allowed to read The Bible were the aforementioned Church officials. And they read it in Latin at that so the masses wouldn't understand.
And, of course, they fleeced the masses for every penny they earned to furnish their own lavish lifestlyes.
My only question was whether or not St. Nick one who ordered heretics burned and/or tortured.
He lived from 270346. Get back to me when you can furnish proof that Catholics was burning anyone during that time period.
LOL. Oh, okay. Maybe he lived in the time period BETWEEN the burning of those who violated The Pope's order that nobody but Priests and Bishops be allowed to read The Bible.
Or even those who simply WANTED to.
Just curious but may I ask your religious affiliation?
BTW...I’m not Roman Catholic, I’m Anglican.
Historically you will find there was blood on just ABOUT every religious groups hands at one time or another.
Blessed Advent to you.
Non-demoninational.....errrr....deNOMinational Christian.

True dat. But we don't celebrate that do we? I truly don't know if St. Nick was one of those bishops that fleeced the masses and consigned heretics to be burned at the stake. I was just asking. If he wasn't, I'm surprised he wasn't burned at the stake his own self.
Blessed Advent to you.
Thank you. What about after Advent? Just kidding. I'm sure you want me to have a blessed day regardless of whether it's a church-approved day or not.
Don't you?
Well, let’s see.
A smoker, that corncob pipe.
Obviously an imbiber, lookit those ruddy red puffy cheeks.
An Overeater, lookit his tummy bulging.
No suitable role model for our kids.
And, rather sinisterly, all those elves, are we sure they’re not kids, what’s he do with them for the rest of the year.
