One Mediator Between God and Men: CHRIST JESUS
2010 | God's Word

Posted on 12/03/2010 4:14:50 PM PST by bibletruth

1 Timothy 2:5 ...one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

There is NO debate here: God's Word clearly points out who the mediator is between God and men: i.e., Christ Jesus

If you believe in God's Word, who is Christ Jesus: The Word of God, then 1 Timothy 2:5 will be easily be understood as Christ the mediator.

Jesus Himself said that there was no one born who was greater than John.

So, by your interpretation, John is greater than Christ Himself.

As I recall, (please correct me if I’m wrong) John’s birth was ALSO miraculous, as his mother, Elizabeth, was barren and too old to conceive. Isn’t that why her husband couldn’t speak until his birth, because he laughed?

You appear to have zero respect for The Mother of God. Do you think Jesus would take kindly to you insulting His Mother??

What's the insult then? That she wasn't perpetually a virgin?

Protestants have plenty of respect for Mary. Saying that she wasn't perpetually virgin is NOT a sign of disrespect.

The prophecy was that a virgin shall conceive and bear a son. End of story.

Whatever happened after that, whatever she did after that, is of no consequence to anybody. It has no impact on Jesus work of redemption. It is irrelevant to anybody's salvation, justification, sanctification, whatever....

She was just a normal, sinful human being who God used in an extra ordinary way, like He used so many others.

Mary carried and gave birth to the man, Jesus. Now that is correct.

It doesn’t matter who believes, it’s matters if what they believe is TRUTH. The world is full of deception and as we know from Scripture there are MANY on the wide road that leads to destruction.

Matt 7:13,14 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I’m not going to educate on His Word. IMO, some are hellbent to learn the hard way.

How many times must you be told; Catholics do not worship Mary.

Then why do they give her titles which belong to God alone and credit her with attributes of God alone?

Why do they make statues of her, light candles to her, pray to her to ask her to do things for them that only God can do.

They sure relate her as they relate to God.

And besides, time devoted to Mary is time NOT devoted to God. It's robbing God.

Utterly wrong and shows a woeful lack of understanding. But there doesn't seem to be much point in explaining it again.

And besides, time devoted to Mary is time NOT devoted to God. It's robbing God.

Is time devoted to loving our neighbor "robbing God" too?

Mary carried and gave birth to the man, Jesus. Now that is correct.

Is Jesus Christ the Son of God? Is Jesus Christ fully man and fully God? Is Jesus Christ the Second Person of the Trinity?

Mary, Mother of God, not only believed the angel, but answered, “Be it done unto me according to thy word.”

This is a preposterous claim. Can you substantiate it?

Hey be fair, how can metl, mom substantiate a falsehood? It is just more bigotry on parade. Teasels and hatred stapes into one long splinter screed of hatred and lies.

"Dr E. was not the originator of those numerous posts with 'Come home, come back to the Eucharist'."

Never the less she was actively recruiting. (I wonder if that is against any forum anti-solicitation rules) Are you the spokesperson for the recruiting effort? If I up my contribution to two bags of cookies will you shut up and go away too?

Not only do those in heaven pray with us, they also pray for us. In the book of Revelation, we read: “[An] angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God” (Rev. 8:3-4)."

And those in heaven who offer to God our prayers aren’t just angels, but humans as well. John sees that “the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Rev. 5:8).

Both of those references are Post Rapture, when the saints will be in Heaven in their changed bodies.

Neither of them can be used as a justification for the present saints praying to the deceased brethren.

Mary carried and gave birth to the man, Jesus. Now that is correct.

It's correct if you're a Nestorian. Christian doctrine is that Christ is at once true God and true Man, two natures united in the Hypostatic Union. Not two parts held together by Velcro or something.

Actually, after some of the truly ugly things said about the Mother of God here on FR’s religion forum, I wonder if these people are familiar with any good mothers?

I think you may be right on the money, JA. For one reason or another, these souls were probably deprived of any love, and hated themselves all their lives. They found a sanctuary where they are loved, even exalted, without having to learn how to love back, so they turned their unrighteousness into faux righteousness, and boast about it.

Others seem to be Catholic apostates with an ax to grind, who left the Church because they couldn't stand someone telling them to love rather than hate. So they found refuge in those pulpits where God not only loves but also hates, so that they may also be justified din hating, as they Opel admit. No matter how you turn it around, it's pride. The NT tells us pride brought down even angels.

It only makes sense that they must denigrate what we believe in: the Faith. The Mass and Christ’s own Church are the only things keeping this world and creation from slipping into the Abyss. Remember St. Pio’s statement: “It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do without Holy Mass.”

The OPC is just another front for FreeMasonry. Just as the FreeMasons call the Almighty Eternal One, “The Architect of the Universe”, so also do the Calvinists.

Calvin, in his Institutes of the Christian Religion (published in 1536), repeatedly calls the Christian god “the Architect of the Universe”, also referring to his works as “Architecture of the Universe”, and in his commentary on Psalm 19 refers to the Christian God as the “Great Architect” or “Architect of the Universe.

I have no doubt that the FreeMasons took some of Calvin’s thoughts into their own particularly peculiar practices and beliefs and agendas.

Rev. James Anderson, Calvinist, btw, in 1723 wrote the definitive rules and Constitution for FreeMasonry, “The Constitutions of the Free Masons; containing the History, Charges, Regulations, &c. of that Most Ancient and Right Worshipful Fraternity. For the Use of the Lodges. London. In the year of Masonry 5723, Anno Domini 1723.”

Anderson was also Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of London and Westminster. FreeMasonry and Presbyterianism have a long history of going hand-in-hand.

Freemasonry is incompatible with the Catholic Christian faith or any Christian faith. It’s syncretist; beyond heresy into paganism. Historically, one of Masonry’s primary objectives has been the destruction of the Catholic Church. But, it is not for that reason alone that the Church calls it destructive and soul deadening. It’s indifferentism by a great order.

The incomprehensible hatred and loathing of the Church by OPC when viewed from these facts becomes more clear.

There is a very strong history of Freemasonry in the Presbyterian clergy and in their followers.

JESUS died ONCE and arose ONCE. IT IS FINISHED.

Doing tricks daily to recreate an event is not of God - it’s man’s imagination to satisfy himself.

"Protestants have plenty of respect for Mary."

Yes they do, but then again your fringe views on the subject are not representative of the vast majority of Protestant views.
