You can pretty much rest assured that prophecy teachers (pastor, preacher, prophet, pundit, televangelist, and the like) have little idea what theyre talking about when they use the phrase the Antichrist. Its a dead giveaway that any such person has sold out dogmatically, uncritically, and close-mindedly to a particular system of end-times theology rather than a purely biblical assessment of the issue.
Why such a strong conclusion over the mere phrase the Antichrist?
Because no such character appears in Scripture. Let me explain.

"For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled." (Luke 21:22)
So if we are now to assume that the term “antichrist” applies to a group and/or idealogy, is it safe to say that the triune of Obama, Pelosi, & Reid, along with all they represent and desire, are “the antichrist?”
Isn’t there a song about somebody going down to Georgia? Maybe he has already showed up given what is being said out of Georgia?
The False Prophet:
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth;
and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,
and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast,
whose deadly wound was healed.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come
down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by those miracles
which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;
saying to them that dwell on the earth,
that they should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast,
that the image of the beast should both speak,
and cause that as many as would not
worship the image of the beast should be killed.
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor,
free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand,
or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark,
or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:
for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Revelation 13:11
The name "Anti-Christ" is not what the coming world leader will be known as. He will be lauded and beloved by those who hate God and will probably be called a savior. "Anti-Christ" is a simply a name that people generally use to describe that Satanic leader. He could also be called "Man of Sin", "Son of Perdition" and "Beast".
I'm certain that you don't want to believe that a Satanic world leader will arise, but the Bible makes it clear. The prophecies of Christ's return and the defeat of the Anti-Christ have not yet been fulfilled, but I'm certain that you can explain them away with some tortured interpretation of Scripture.
Good luck with that.
I think it’s pretty safe to say anything...it still doesn’t make it so though.
Fantastic article. I’ve been saying essentially the same things for years now.
Well written. Hopefully this will wake up some of the loonies out there.
These certainly are antichrist. National Socialism, international Communism, mohammedanism, whatever you call the ideology informing the French Revolution ... these, too, were and are antichrist. Indeed, any ideology which raises anything to a higher status than Almighty God: The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit, is antichrist.
Ohhhhhh... but I think it’s far more than “safe” actually. I think it’s absolutely true. See post just above yours.
Sorry.... I meant see post by “Arrogant Bustard”
Islam on the other hand does talk about the coming of a defacto Anti-Christ, also known as the Twelfth Imam.
Nope, I still don’t think so.
Mohammedanism is based on the ravings of a demon-infested madman. I don’t credit it with being prophetic in any sense.
Who is the “man of sin”?
Wow... you mean just like that guy in front of the Roman Columns in the coliseum at the DNC awhile back? You know... the guy people were getting “leg tingles” from and who were fainting in the aisles when he spoke, praising him as the new savior? Ummmm what’s his name again? The guy with an absent father, the guy who pretty much came out of nowhere to hysterical masses and insane popularity? Oh darn... you know who I mean... I keep forgetting his name because he’s changed it a few times, along with his birth certificate.
I think the word Hoax is unnecessarily harsh. I’m sort of an agnostic on the end times scenarios (except that Jesus WILL come again), but I don’t think there is any conspiracy on the part of anyone to deceive people about it.
Except for the DNC part, I’m not sure if you’re talking about Adolf Hitler or Josef Stalin.
Right ... it's just that some folks get whipped into a frenzy over dodgy theology. Get a few of them together, and things start to spin out of control.
LOL
