Ken Ham and his "Answers in Genesis" have been long criticized for their attacks on Christians who don't agree with his Genesis interpretation, his misrepresentation of what those people believe and Ham/AiG's complete lack of anything resembling biblical scholarship. So now they attack the Assemblies of God churches (http://blogs.answersingenesis.org/blogs/ken-ham/2010/09/08/a-sad-day-for-the-assemblies-of-god-denomination/) for not latching on to the uncritical AiG beliefs. Hopefully, the AoG are simply trying to work through the issues at a scholarly level (something AiG cannot seem to do) and won't follow the current trend of some Christians in accepting theistic evolution. It is the fault of people like Ken Ham for this trend because he and his people have been shouting for years that there are only two views and if you don't agree with him you are a compromiser. They also routinely misrepresent all views other than their own. If you disagree with AiG, you must be compromising or confused or led astray.
If you don’t want to be known as a compromiser then don’t compromise. It’s just THAT simple!
“thiestic evolution”
oxymoronical
you are not being serious right?
I thought Ham was still in jail?
Just in case facts will matter in this discussion, Ken was not in jail.
Kent Hovind is in Jail, Ken Ham is NOT!
Thanks.. wrong one.. Kent.. Ken..
Untrue. God gave us all the light we need in His Word. Problem is some try to manipulate it to agree with bad science. They fear the bible will be proved wrong so they try to “protect” God. In reality the opposite always occurs, science eventually catches up with the Word of God and “proves” it right. Imagine that.
You’re thinking of Dr. Dino.
Yes, the militant fundies on both sides, because they are so loud, drown out scholarly discussions.
To me this is sad. When will all these pastors and congregations come back to the truth?
We can pray, I guess.
Whatever creation theory we individually may prefer, we must affirm that the entire creation has been brought into being by the design and activity of the Triune God. Moreover, we also affirm that the New Testament treats the creation and fall of Adam and Eve as historical events in which the Creator is especially involved. We urge all sincere and conscientious believers to adhere to what the Bible plainly teaches and to avoid divisiveness over debatable theories of creation.
Those crazy AoGers...
I believe in God. I also accept evolution. So far, evolution has failed to make me any less in awe of God.
You can exclude me from “your” Christianity if you’d like, or even call me a hell-bound fake. I don’t care, although I might laugh at your presuming God will consider your opinion when deciding my fate.
Everything I have heard Ken Ham speak in the past has absolutely been scientifically correct and Biblically correct.
He hasn’t spent too much time speaking strictly theologically, so I honestly dont know how to define his faith as evangelical, fundamentalist or charismatic or whatever...
Actually, the problem is people dont believe what God said, so they twist the Bible to fit their world view.
The Bible says SIX LITERAL DAYS.
So, it means, 6 literal days.
Americans are suckers for anyone with a Brit derived accent.
All I can say is that no amount of searching will ever find God if you’ve already convinced yourself He isn’t there. Most of the scientists today don’t believe, and would not believe because it messes up their human-centered worldview.
Ken Ham and John MacArthur hold to exactly the same position on the interpretation of Genesis. It is unfair, and untrue, to accuse AIG of lacking in biblical scholarship. That is just not the case. Additionally, they clearly state that you don’t need to hold to their interpretation of Genesis to be a Christian.
Actually, the problem is people dont believe what God said, so they twist the Bible to fit their world view.
The problem is people try to read an 2nd millenium BC ANE document with modern eyes.
The Bible says SIX LITERAL DAYS.So, it means, 6 literal days.
So, it means, six days.
